Kevin D Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Hey all, I've been observing for quite a while and decided to join in on the interesting content on this site. I was a youth program director at our local gun club for years, I'm a hunter, and enjoy all types of rifle, handgun and shotgun shooting. I enjoyed black powder for many years, shooting and building rifles. But, never owned a pistol until this week. Found a .44 cal. ASM 1851 Navy made in 1975 and am looking forward to shooting it soon. Talk with you all some more, soon. 5 Quote
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 SASS has the Frontiersman category for those who choose to compete with cap and ball revolvers. We also have a side match called the Plainsman that uses these revolvers and a single shot rifle. You can read the rules in the Shooter's Handbook. I shoot real black powder in my cap and revolvers at major matches but use a black powder substitute locally. There is lots of expertise on this Wire on how to make these revolvers smooth and reliable. 2 Quote

Kevin D Posted May 22 Author Posted May 22 I'm also a long time fan of cartridge six shooters. Here's a few. 5 Quote
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Your cartridge revolvers are legal in SASS too in the Frontier Cartridge categories. I prefer Frontier Cartridge during rainy matches. 1 Quote
