We’ve all seen a bunch of lawyer ads, they try and come up with catchy slogans, here’s a few I’ve been hearing,

I’m blah blah and I’ll make them pay

You’re damn right we fight

We’re the team that the EMS follows

Call us now, we’d call you but we don’t have your number 🤣

If we don’t win, you don’t pay

Prior to 1977 lawyers were generally not allowed to advertise.  A case from my State, Arizona, went to the Supreme Court and they found commercial speech is protected by the First Amendment.  Now the late night TV shows are inundated by lawyer advertising.

It's not just late night here, it's 24 hours a day no matter what channel you're watching. Morgan and Morgan dominate with their BS slogan 'For the People". Bull. it's for their own pockets. Can't stand them.

Lawyer advertising is a large part of why I have retired early.  Years ago (late 90's) I had a discussion with a retired Judge about the legal decision allowing lawyers to advertise and I took the position that it was legally correct, but unfortunately lawyers being who and what they are, it would be ripe for abuse and would destroy small firms and solo practitioners.

Morgan and Morgan's advertising budget is believed to be between 500 and 600 Million dollars annually.  Better lawyers abound, but who can afford to make their presence felt against such spending?

John Morgan is supposedly going to start a new political party and run for Governor of Florida. He has already heavily supported various different items that came up for vote in 2024. Some of it was overt and some in the shadows. I've seen video of him at several events where he was plainly obviously stoned or drunk or both.

If he were to run as a Democrat, stoned or drunk would usually be a resume enhancement.

the catch to making that call is your on the hook for half the settlement , if its big enough to make you whole thats great , if not or your dead it makes it less appealing

When I moved to LA in ‘82 I was blown away by the lawyer and insurance ads on TV. Over time I learned that a lot of them were crooks and shysters, but not all of them.

The immediate knee jerk reaction of many people is to disparage lawyers at the mere mention of them. Everybody likes to kick ‘em in the shins until they need a lawyer.

Remember that old saying: "95% of lawyers give the rest a bad name." Not saying they're all bad, I used to shoot with a lawyer whose alias was "Solicitor General". I'd trust him any time.

Same with physicians and veterinarians.

i was President of our local Veterinary Association in the mid- 1980s.  One of our members began advertising heavily, and I was asked to discourage him.  I had no legal basis to do so.

So now everyone advertises.  I honestly don't know if things are better or more profitable now.  Ad sheets and TV stations are happy.  Pharmaceutical companies spend millions on those ads that list all the horrible side effects.  They wouldn't do it if it were not profitable.

That is a sure way to get the opposite party elected.  Ross Perot got Bill Clinton elected to a second term by splitting the Conservative vote.

My neices are both lawyers. One works for the county as a defense attorney and the other works with children and families on welfare and foster families. They’re both super left wingers but I love em.
