Anybody have suggestions on Buckaroo rigs?  I'd like to get my son something that the 410 shells are a little easier to get out of.

yes or a 4570 slide will work as well , the next step is 12 ga and he can probably handle a really light load 12 ... my 3/4 oz loads are really light and i think lkless that the 410 in some cases

This Saturday is my Great Nephew's first match, he's using my Ruger Wranglers and a Henry 22 but my Stoeger 12 ga.  I've tried a couple of different rifles for him, they're just a bit heavy.  There's a really nice Model 66 in 38 spl over in the classifieds I'd love to get for him, but it's going to be a bit heavy for him still.  Looking for an appropriate rig for him has been interesting because the kid is skinny.  For now we are just going leather belt, some holsters designed for .22's and a shotgun slide.  If he sticks with it and progresses the way I think he will then I'll start getting better bigger gear for him.  But being 12 he can shoot the .22's for a bit.

When my son was was a buckaroo he used a leather belt with a fancy buckle. He would turn it around after putting it on. He used the ammo slide in the front in between the two holsters.

My 9 y.o. does exactly this. Works great for him, and it's alot cheaper since kids grow out of stuff very quickly.

second this. We started my son with a .410, but quickly switched over to very light 12ga rounds. He has to shoot them out of a NEF 12ga Pardner single-shot. He likes the single-shot even tho it is slower, he can't quite break over a double barrel just yet.

Get decent holsters that fit the guns and just slide em on a belt that works; they will grow out of the belt and you can switch the holsters over .

When they graduate to larger pistols and if you sell the pistols, the holsters with them makes a great package for the buyer

he will get there soon , let him find his way , but its by far better that he get to a 12ga sooner than later

I'm blessed with two more sons that haven't reached buckaroo stage yet.  So, it would be worth while.  He is using a .45 slide in the middle of a belt right now, but still kind of hard to get them out of that.  Maybe if he groups them in twos, it will work better.
