Utah Bob #35998 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) The Cowboy Hat You can toss it on a coat hook But never on the bed The best place to toss it though Is right up on your head It will warm your head in winter In summer, a bit too much It will ward off wind and snowflakes And skeeter bugs and such You can take it off to wave it And shout a big Yeehaa And at the dinner table So said my dear grandpa If your cayuse needs some water You can fill it from a stream Then put it back and it will cool Your head off like a dream Take it off to kiss your sweetie Put it on if there’s a fight Put it on to break a bronc each time And pull it down real tight Take it off in your horseless carriage If the headroom’s kinda slim Use an old beat up tea kettlle To customize your brim Don’t think it’s just another hat It’s more than that you know Wear it with respect and pride Go ahead, put on a show It’s a hat that says ”America” When you wear near or far From Timbuktu to London town They’ll know just who you are Now I could go on a lil bit longer But I’ve already wasted time So put yours on with a cowboy smile And I’ll do the same with mine 😉 Edited May 2 by Utah Bob #35998 7 6 Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Hell, my daughter tells me that my hat is about 80% of my total personality. She might be right. Lots of people recognize me all over this county and beyond, but only a small handful could tell you my name....and dozens will comment on a new or different hat if I wear one. Thanks, Bob. You nailed another one. Quote
