remove nickel and re blue SAA

I have an old Colt 45 shooter grade. It was originally blue but now has a nickel finish that is not very good. does anyone know good smith that can remove the nickel and clean it up

id never try to persuade anyone from having tjheir guns as they like them but this sounds expensive - is it worth it

There is a fair chance the nickel could be covering some pitting or other blemishes that will show up on a blued gun.

If its shooter grade, youre not going to make it any better by going through all the expense of removing the nickel and reblueing it. Id just keep it the way it is and shoot the heck out of it!

I don't get it.  I personally consider ALL guns as "Shooter Grade."  Some just look a little better.  Sorta.

Fords gun refinishing has a nickle removal service and can reblue the gun as well.
