I got to handle one at the Ft. Worth gun show on Sunday.  I have to say that it was way smoother than my NIB Taylor/Uberti Comanchero was when I unboxed it.  It isn’t anywhere close to as sweet as my Jim Bowie EMF-Uberti ‘73 but At $1530.00 it is currently several hundred $ cheaper than a new  Comanchero.

The stroke is shorter than the standard. It has a brass bead front sight and a shortened buckhorn rear sight for quick acquisition. It also has a higher grade of wood for the stock and fore grip.

I have a Miroku, I bought with action work already done, still felt clunky....dropped in Shotgun Boogie's kit, and it is so much better.

Bought a Miroku competition carbine two weeks ago and Boogies kit took all the stiffness and slight catching out.. Was a fun, easy upgrade. Put a lever and trigger wrap on it from Hellhound Leather Co and it's ready to go!  Love this rifle! Congrats on yours!

I just ordered a kit so I'm glad to hear it's a significant improvement. I'm curious about the firing pin extension part of the kit. How much did replacing it improve the action?

To be honest, I don't know. The stock firing pin extension has a spring rebound kit in it, I guess that's what it is? The Boogie is one solid rod.

I had not loosened the tension on the hammer spring when the gun arrived so that may be part of the reason why everything was so hard, the lever safety was so bad that I never thought I could get used to it as I had been shooting a Winchester 66.

 

After installing the Boogie kit and having loosened the hammer spring tension when I installed the new hammer spring, the action went from horrible to perfection.

I went to the range thinking to myself, there is no way this thing is going to light off my primers and assumed I would have to tighten the spring tension to where it goes bang every time. BUT it worked perfectly and now the lever safety is unnoticeable.

What primers were you using? I've mostly used winchester and am starting to use federal since I can get them regularly in my local shops now.

Usually non federal in 38 Special for rifle, all my Federals go into ICORE & SASS Revolvers
