Really cool window / bumper sticker

"I MISS THE AMERICA I GREW UP IN" with an outline of the 48 states in stars and stripes colors. 

 

RWOP (Republican Women of Prescott, the largest Republican women's group anywhere) had a booth selling good stuff at a home show. At $5.00 each I bought three...so far.  

 

I have never before seen anything that more completely expresses my feelings than that.  

 

I may try to find someone who can make a patch for my  jacket or embroider one for me.  I'm not into tatoos, but if I were a lot younger....well, just maybe!

I have a leather “biker vest” with a couple of politically incorrect patches on it that I would love to sew one of those onto!!

 

And YEAH! I will pay for it!!

Waiting  for a call from a seamstress who made a lot of patches  for my Army and Marine "braggin'  jackets".  She's good, but she's slow (backlog, you  know), so put on your "loafing jammies" and turn on the TV.  We might have a copyright issue.  I'll let you know. 

 

Sure looks good in the back window of my Impala.

i like it too , let us know if you find it , i too remember our country then , i actually still have a flag with 48 stars - my wife was born in 1959 so she cant claim that as both hawaii and alaska became states that year - she was born at pearl harbor in september that year so not quite a month after it became a state

me too , made me remember the late 50s , i miss that time period , we cared about the country then , wasnt a movement on either side of the aisle looking to end it or trash it , wasnt long tho before that all changed in thr 60s - i saw it happening and didnt understand how we [half of us] could be there , we all knew what the commies were and none of us liked it but slowly they got a foothold

So you want a black background?  I was thinking more on the line of denim.......   I'll see what kind of scraps I can scrounge for mock-ups.  I will try your lettering idea as well.  Let me see how my week looks.  It might be Friday before I get to it.

Why YES!! I had a youth, mostly misspent!! My mom whooped me so many times that she ended up with tennis elbow!!

 

The local traffic judge threatened me with jail time if I didn’t “stop embarrassing his officers” because they’d chase me out of the county at least twice a week, but they never caught me!

 

Those WERE the days!! If you outran the cops, they would just turn around and go back to their patrol area. We all knew them and they knew us, but so long as we didn’t do anything but street race, it was just a game of cats and mice!!

Kinda like that, but long sleeves, the jacket was open and the shirt was frilly!

 

My grandmother used to tell me how bad I acted when they put that thing on me and she’d laugh because my mom got mad about it!

Schoolmarm doesn’t know what I look like clean shaven!

 

The last day that I shaved my whole face was the day my senior high school picture was taken!

 

The school I attended had a dress code that didn’t allow facial hair. They expelled some of my friends for having long hair and beards. They were part of an up and coming rock ‘n’ roll band with a lucrative recording contract. The case actually made it to the Supreme Court, but was mooted because the city had dropped the dress code by the time the case went before the panel.

 

I grew sideburns to the bottom of my jaw line and only shaved my cheeks and an inch wide strip on my chin.  
 

I also skipped all or part of 178 days my senior year! I’d already met the qualifications for graduation except for senior English and I made enough classes and passed all the exams to pass the class!

 

See what I mean about misspent youth??🙄🤣

I have an interesting take on that sticker.  I downloaded some new software for the machine last night.  That should make this process much easier.  We'll see how it goes.

Couple thoughts here. And these are just my thoughts.

 

That Josey Wales thing. I totally despise pictures showing that shot up blowm to hell flag. If your flag looks like that, you are supposed to fold it up and take it to the Boy Scouts or the VFW where it will be decently and respectfully burned. Having your flag in that condition if an insult and a disgrace.

And second, Josie was Confederate. That's not his flag.
