watab kid Posted April 25 Posted April 25 fun to see this kind of thing , our house growing up had a barbed wire fence that ran along the edge of a deep ravine - nothing but cornfeilds beyond for many miles - there was a very sturdy elm tree right up against it in middle of the yard , my dad and i used it as a backstop , one day [i was 10] we were shooting milsurp 303 brit and he severed one strand of the barbed wire , being a kid i congratulated him on his shot ............an hour later after we repaired the fence he explained it had not been his intent 2 Quote
Chicken Rustler, SASS #26680 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 A neighbor pulled over at my uncle's farm to say hi and talk like neighbors do, they were standing at the truck talking when a fox came by at a ridge about 150 yards away. The foxes head was popping up over the ridge as it went by and my uncle grabbed his rifle out of the truck while he was talking and took a shot and it just happened to hit the fox on the up bounce, then he put the rifle back and kept talking like it was the most natural thing in the world to make that shot. It took 50 years, but somebody finally topped his story! I wonder how many people thought of Tom Horn when they saw this thread title. 2 Quote

Dawg Hair, SASS #29557 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 It has been argued that in a modern day court Tom Horn would have been found innocent. 1 Quote
