Howdy All My Old Pards!

Sixgun Shorty Here..at last!

My good Pard Lumpy Grits called me a few days ago to tell me some of the old timers that would still remember me

had been inquiring as to my whereabouts and why I haven't been active on the Wire like I was for 15 years or so!

Briefly, I had to leave Lake Tahoe in 2024 where I had lived for 40 years and return to Atlanta where my daughter , granddaughter and family  live

due to grave health concerns; I have been literally fighting for my life due to blood infections and and a small hole in my esophagus..not to mention a subdural hematoma in my brain and assorted other med issues, I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel and finally recovering..after a 3 years struggle !

My brilliant surgeons and Docs at Emory in Atlanta , after 6 times telling me I was dying, were dead A** wrong and I made it in spite of their disbelief!

Not quite ready to shoot cowboy again although I have been putting in some range time at a Shooting Club I belong to in Atlanta.

I bought a house in Marietta GA that's only 2 minutes away from my Daughter so my family support has been incredible !

I miss My SASS Pards and SASS in general as it was( and is) such a big part of my life and where my old friends are!

My living room in Atlanta is lined with SASS pictures and memorabilia as quite a few of my beloved Colts are on the walls as reminders!

To those of you that remember me, I am glad to announce I am back at least in a SASS 'old member'role but slowly regaining enough strength to soon start showing up at matches and SASS events! To those of you that remember me ,thank you for the SASS individuals  that have given me support over the past few years of illness.

Now it's time to

make some new memories along with my old SASS Pards!

Thank you All and it's good to be back!

Welcome back to the fun !

Doesn't sound like you've had much of that these past days .

Hope to see you down the trail one day.......

Shorty,

Glad your health is improving. I used to enjoy reading your posts and wondered what had happened to you.

When you are up to shooting again, take an easy drive up to Ringgold, GA and shoot with us at the Tennessee Mountain Marauders. The range is flat and easy to walk. We shoot on the 3rd and 5th Saturday’s.

And the go to for all questions about Colt!

We have all missed your wisdom stories and thoughts!!  God bless your recoveries and family!!  Thanks for being back!!

Good to learn you're still around.  Thankful you're seeing light at the end of the tunnel.  Another good thing moving to Georgia is you're probably not missing the Tahoe winters.  😃

I’m glad you’re back and doing better!! I’ve missed the flow of information and insight into Colt and gun quality!

Hang in there! There’s plenty of folks in your corner!!

Hey Shorty !  Glad to hear that you're on the mend.  I still have an 1886 Winchester that Goatneck Clem got from you, then I got from him.  Glad you're still up and around.

Hey Shorty, I've never had the pleasure of meeting you either. Welcome back Pard and 🙏 Prayers up for continued good health.

I have also never met Shorty, but I remember his posts on many an interesting discussion thread.  Welcome back!

I can't say I have ever been as sick as you were, but between a brain tumor and then then cancer, I know what it's like to have long hospital stays and can appreciate the support of family and friends.  Those are wonderful things to have, and I am glad you did.

Hope to somehow see you at the range someday.

We're shooting tomorrow at South River Gun Club.  It's probably just over an hour from you.  Stop by if you're feeling up to it.  You'll be welcome.  If you're interested in shooting and need some of the stuff I can bring extra ammo and loan you some guns.

Well, hot diggity dog.   Its good to see ya back on the Wire and hopefully, getting better each day from those health issues.

Although I never left the Wire portion, my open heart surgery kept me from shooting a few years back for about 2 years.

BUT,  I managed to get back and enjoy the shooting part.

Here's wishing you well in your recovery.   And a big 'thanks' for updating us.

What a nice surprise seeing you on here, Shorty.  I'll bet you outlive some of those doctors. :)

Hey Shorty, keep getting better. I remember being on the same possie on a couple of shoots and hearing you complain about the lack of snow at your NV home 😁. Good to see you back on the wire and keeping my fingers crossed (you know how hard that is to do at our age) you continue to improve and don't have to shovel much in GA.

S Shorty, My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting you about 25 or so years ag when we were visiting Nevada from Alaska,  probably attending a SCI convention.  I gave you a call and we met up at Lake Tahoe, you shared some of the sights and then we had lunch at a nice little marina.  I told her that you were back and we both wish you nothing but the best going forward.  C.
