Trailrider #896 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Initially USAF was going to retire the BUFF's in 2050. I have told my doctors that I wanted to see that. I would be 108 years old. But now...either have to extend to immortality or at least go for cryosleep! Looks like the DC-3 will have nothing on the B-52 for longevity! 2 1 Quote

The DC-3 is still flying in regular service and will for the foreseeable future. Quote

The B-52 might set the record for the longest plane in US military service (or it might be set by the C-130), but when the last B-52 goes to the scrapyard there will still be DC-3's flying around.
