Hoss Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Good luck to all my pards st Comancheria Days. The Texican Rangers put on a great match. And spring time in the Texas Hill Country hard to beat! Unfortunately I wont be able to make it. I’m getting a new knee on the 24th. On the bright side, I should be healed up and ready for Land Run in October. 7 Quote

Silver Creek Jack Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I agree on Comancheria days being a great match! First few days of that new knee will be rough Hoss, hang in there and work hard on the PT, it will pay off big time! God bless! 1 Quote
July Smith Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Hope to see you down the trail sometime. Speedy recovery! Quote
Texas Maverick Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Sorry you won't make it but you will feel much better when that new knee heals and you can get around. I have had both done and like said above PT needs to be taken seriously. It can make or break a good operation. I had my spine surgery in Feb and been going to PT 2 to 3 times a week since. They finally cleared me to shoot this weekend so looking forward to it. Haven't shot a match since Land Run so gonna be real rusty but still looking forward to it. See ya at Land Run. TM 3 Quote
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 We'll miss ya Hoss. Raffle ticket sales will be down this year. Best of luck with the knee! 1 Quote
Griff Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I will also add my best wishes for pards & pardettes attending the state match and for your speedy & complete recovery from knee surgery. It's still on my "to-do" list. I have a cousin visiting from NZ and might make the drive out to Lone Star for our monthly so she gets a taste of cowboy action! Quote
Caprock Kid Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Everyone at CD long range kept asking where’s Hoss? Funniest thing was someone was sure they had seen you earlier in the day. 3 Quote
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Rain is forecast for today, but not until 6 PM. Doc B and I are shooting on lucky posse 13. We will post videos on our YouTube channels and the Rio Grande Renegades Facebook page after we return from the 4-Corners Regional. I got my trailer brakes repaired yesterday afternoon. I had to skip the Plainsman side match to do so. This was a huge disappointment, but clearly the best use of my time. 2 Quote
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 My wife and I both shot clean today. The forecast rain never fell - yeah! Sedalia Dave is on posse 13 with two other Frontiersmen. This is my first time shooting with SD. My rifle was just back from my gunsmith for a deep cleaning. He just lightly lubed it for smokeless powder. It took several applications of Ballistol before it ran smoothly with BP. Stage and target placement are good. We have one Cody Dixon shooter. He is shooting large rifle targets placed at forty yards. 2 Quote
Sedalia Dave Posted April 10 Posted April 10 It’s always a pleasure when you get to meet wire pards at a match. 2 Quote

Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Congratulations Sedalia Dave, Texas State Frontiersman Champion. He won in a crowded field. All the Frontiersmen kept their revolvers reliable while shooting in light rain. The match was fun and my wife and I want to return. I want to give Cody Dixon lever action a try. 3 1 Quote
