I have no commercial interest in this company, just passing along a tool that was rather handy.

I find wrangling the loading gate spring to be a pain when disassembling/reassembling a New Vaquero. I used this tool recently and found it to be super convenient so I thought I’d pass it along. It’s sold by RW Grip Frames.

I had a bunch of leftover brass bar stock so I made and sold a bunch of these. I just set the screw once and then slide into place.

Bought this from Wes Flowers 25 years ago.  They have been around a long time.  In case some of you weren't around when Wes was still with us he invented the Ruger revolver short stroke.

That's the one I have. Was a raffle prize at a state shoot many years ago.

My wife’s NMV are a pair he converted to four click, no transfer bar configuration. Still run great, though she doesn’t shoot anymore.

You guys are getting lazy in your old age.  Just clamp the pistol upright.  Use a screw driver to push down the spring.  Hold it down with your chin on the screw driver and you have two hands to insert the gate.

THIS, though I don't use my chin to hold down the screwdriver but can use my right hand to push pin out with a pin pusher.  Holding screwdriver with your chin may cause dire consequences.  Just saying🫢😁
