Rye Miles #13621 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I don’t get why Ohio gets a 80%, we can buy anything we want, we have constitutional carry, open carry, Castle Doctrine and we can also get a CCL permit to use in other states. Florida is basically the same. I think they’re full of BS! Quote

So okay no firearms in government buildings, they’re wrong about places of worship, I believe that’s been changed. They have to list a No Firearms sign. There is no restrictions on 18-20 yr olds buying rifles or shotguns but yet they said there is! 😡. Yes handguns are limited to 21 ,but they’re wrong on a few of these and they should update their information! Edited April 6 by Rye Miles #13621 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) The state of Tennessee does NOT ban carry in parks , trails, or campgrounds. They DO require a permit, but it’s the lower level permit that doesn’t require live fire qualifying or classroom course. “Yes, you can conceal carry in Tennessee state parks if you have a valid Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP) or a Concealed Handgun Carry Permit (CHCP).” Edited April 6 by Blackwater 53393 1 Quote

Limited exceptions for some TVA areas with hunting, and at boat ramps. And the lower-level permit does require some training but it can be on-line. For parks, many still have signage prohibiting carry, these signs are grandfathered in until replaced in normal maintenance. They no longer carry force of law. No carry near a school event at a park. And finally for parks, a permit is required even though Tennessee is otherwise now also a permit-less carry state. For park carry, if must be per the permit. The basic permit is concealed carry only, the enhanced permit is concealed or open. The moment either steps off of park property, they can carry openly as permit-less carry does not specify means. And our "intent to go armed" law is still a bit of a mess for the legislature to clean up; this is a leftover problem from the order legislation for a basic permit and permit-less carry passed. Overall though, it is pretty good here with no hardware bans, no ammo bans, and no registration at the state level. 18 to 20 year olds can get a carry permit. We honor all permits and while there are some quibbles* in the law, seem to allow out of state visitors to carry within what is not restricted for permitted carry. There is a zero-tolerance policy for consuming alcohol while carrying. * Permit-less carry requires the ability to qualify for a permit. One of the requirements is residency. There is a non-resident permit available under certain conditions, most tourists would not meet those conditions. 1 Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 In Ohio we can carry in bars but you can’t drink. They are allowed to put up a No Gun sign as all private businesses can. I used this card for those businesses. 1 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Unfortunately, too many conservatives sip from the cup of compromise. "We have to compromise some to seem reasonable!" Sorry, no we don't. It's that whole "Cake and Compromise" thing. We need to adopt Приказ № 227, "Ни шагу назад!" NOT ONE STEP BACK! 1 Quote
John Kloehr Posted April 6 Posted April 6 One more thing to add for Tennessee, not a problem for law-abiding citizens but I did come across "restricted ammo" when learning the laws. Ball ammo is not restricted, but some HP along with rounds like the Talon (fragmenting) are restricted. This means if a criminal commits a crime using any restricted ammunition, it is a sentencing enhancement. I do not really object yet this may not be constitutional depending on how strict a line one draws. 2 2 Quote
Jimmy Reb, SASS #54804 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Some of the Wyoming information is incorrect. The state should be moved up the list. Quote
