Major Crimes Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) I messed up. I forgot to empty the spent primer box and the tube is now blocked. I used a small wire from the bottom and got quite a lot out but there is a blockage about an inch or two from the top. I have flicked a few out of the initial bowel bowl but can see some further down that I can't move. Any past experience that may help? Edited April 6 by Major Crimes 1 Quote

At church about 15 years ago we remodeled the hall, including a huge upgrade to the kitchen. The person who labeled the cabinets had sections for "Large Bowels" and "Small Bowels." 5 Quote

Eyesa Horg Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) Worse case remove the slide. The large square piece that goes up and down with the handle. There is a bolt on the back and the handle has to be removed. The square part will drop out the bottom. On the right side is a white plastic piece that covers the channel where the primers travel. The manual will aid you or go to the Dillon site and watch their videos on cleaning the machine. Probably needs a good clean and lube anyway! On edit... You can try blowing air UP from the bottom where the primers come out, it may float them enough to unjam them. Worth a try I suppose. Edited April 6 by Eyesa Horg Added text 2 1 Quote

Colorado Coffinmaker Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Nah. None of the Above. A perfectly good reason to upgrade to a brandy new Dillon 750 . . . . . . . Your Welcome. 4 Quote
Major Crimes Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 While Colorado had the best idea I tried a few others first, and it worked. I removed the top plate (#17 above) and that gave me more room to get at the blockage. I started from below and moved what I could with a thin but sturdy piece of wire and then flicked out the remainder blocking the top one at a time until I couldn't see anymore from the top. Gave it all a blast of air from a can and dirt and crud all came tumbling out. Very nervously sent a spent primer down from the top and was very relived to hear it hit the floor. Thanks All! 6 Quote
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Glad to hear you got it cleared. I went to a tube in a bottle rather than the box for spent primers. Not sure if it would work for all mounting arrangements. 3 Quote
