The woman on the TV show was upset and grabbed the bottle of vodka and poured it over her cereal. Fine. Television show.

But it got me to thinking. There are a whole lot of beverages out there. Yet all I've ever put on my cereal is milk. No coffee, no CoCola, no beer, no booze. Just milk.

Anybody ever put anything on there cereal except milk?

If so, what?

I tried beer on corn flakes once…Once!

If you want to try something good add some heavy whipping cream to your cereal and milk. Not a lot, maybe half a cup. Changes the taste for the better, especially on Chocolate Cheerios. ;)

Just milk for me but a guy I used to know drizzled honey on his corn flakes. Seemed weird to me but I've never been a big fan of honey so that could be why.

I had maybe a quarter of a cup of milk one time, so I got out the can of reddi whip. Sprayed that on the cereal.

That was different.

I have run out of milk on occasion. If available I’ve used 2 parts 1/2&1/2 with 1 part water. Maybe didn’t need the water, but I thought the 1/2&1/2 would be a little thick and rich tasting. It works OK but I’ll stick to milk when available. I have eaten cereal dry as a snack, but I eat it by hand like popcorn. I stick to Honey Nut Cheerios. They are a little sweet which makes them sort of snack like.

OJ, honey, blueberry jam, whipped cream, and once some leftover Ovaltine.  Sometimes I just plain get bored.  I'm more likely to add fruit with the milk...raisins, bananas, berries, etdangcetera.   I have added butter to  hot cereals once in awhile.

Ever put bananas in your oatmeal?

When I was a kid we put raisins in. Nowadays I usually put in craisins. But there is an online story where they add bananas.

I have sliced bananas into cold cereal many times through my life, but it never occurred to me to put 'em in oatmeal.

One night my wife and one of our boys and I wanted cereal. I quickly realized we were very low on milk. Like two bowls of cereal low. Of course my wife for milk. Our son and i rowshamboed for who got the milk. Whelp I lost I used fruit juice on my fruity Cheerios. Not the greatest not the worst but definitely not again. But now I see why it happens. So I could answer another one of Alpo’s questions.

I have never liked oatmeal. The texture gets me every single time I try it. Just like bread or a roll that gets soggy from the juices of the sandwich. Makes me gag just writing this.

Back when I was young and single, I found myself with no milk, but loads of beer. Put the beer over my cereal, and proceeded to eat. I got a couple spoonfuls into it, and decided that was a terrible idea, and flushed the rest down the crapper. I never tried that experiment again.

There was another time after my son was born and we ran out of milk, but my son was wise beyond his years, and took some chocolate milk and poured it over his cheerios.....so I gave it a shot myself, much better than the failed Budweiser experiment.

Milk or half and half or both on my cold cereal. Once, when I was a kid and before I developed an allergy to it, I poured warm coffee with a little cream and sugar on a bowl of cornflakes. NOT BAD!

I frequently add fruit to my hot or cold cereal. Blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries are just short of a requirement. I’ll add apple slices to oatmeal as well as bananas. Pears and raisins are good too!

EDIT:  I also like a sprinkle of cinnamon on most cereals, hot or cold, except cornflakes. I add a little sugar to unsweetened cold cereal and I use honey and butter on my hot cereals.

I enjoy my mini shredded wheat with only International Delight french vanilla coffee creamer. The flavor beats bland milk  by a mile. "Try it, you'll like it"

I have liked yogurt on my cereal forever. Picked it up from my mom as a kid. Keeps cereal crunchy and doesn’t get soggy!

Something I'll have to try.  Thanks.

J-bar is close.   Add Grape Nuts to ice cream!!!       My wife had a severe lactose problem for years after gallbladder surgery and tried water, but didn't have a happy face doing it       GW

No milk. Yogurt and pecans with Great Grains cereal.
