John Kloehr Posted April 3 Posted April 3 There is some fine print, still a big deal and huge change in direction: https://www.military.com/daily-news/headlines/2026/04/02/new-order-lets-troops-carry-personal-guns-base.html " The directive tells installation commanders to presume approval when troops request permission to carry a privately- owned firearm for personal protection on base, reversing policies that largely limited personal weapons to law enforcement or training. The move follows a string of shootings on military installations " Quote
Sedalia Dave Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Now if he’ll let retirees and others with base privileges to do the same. As it currently stands, I can’t use the privileges I earned unless I give up my 2nd Amendment rights and leave my firearms at home when traveling around the country. 1 Quote
