On March 6th my wife and received a call from our local DCF office asking if we would be open to having a newborn in our care as he was in the process of coming into state custody. We very quickly said yes without hesitation. My wife then spent the next 4 days in the NICU with this little heart stealer as he was born 4 1/2 weeks early. We finally get the ok to bring him home. Each foster kiddo we have taken o to our home has always been on specific dates of the month. For some reason that I cannot figure out the Lord has the 10th as that date Fast forward to this last weekend on the 21st we had to rush the little guy to the ER as he was continuing to turn bluish grey in color and started to cough. Once in the ER they quickly rushed us to a different section of the ER for the trauma aspect of it. After a few hours they get him stable and take us up to the PICU. As I’m walking the halls following the Dr’s and my wife lookup and there is the same room and doors that I had to say goodbye to our son exactly 3 1/2 years to the date. I’m still trying to keep it together from everything else and now the Lord walks me into the is section of the hospital. The baby had to be intubated due to having RSV and the troubles he was having. My wife has spent every second by his side since he was there and today I was able to hold him and feed him a bottle as they were able to take him off of the intubator. He only weighed 5 lbs 4.1 ounces when he came home with us but this little guy is a fighter. He wouldn’t stop fighting his sedation and kept waking up from it. And now he is trying to pull his feeding tube out of his nose.

Here he is earlier tonight when I got to hold him. He was so happy and comforted. I haven’t been holding him a lot before this as I am scared I’m going to break him as he is so tiny. This little guy has been with us for a very short time but let me tell you I have shed enough tears this week seeing what he’s going through and being filled with worry I don’t think I have any left in me.

I will continue to pray that I get to the reasoning of everything happening on these dates but there is a part of me that doesn’t want to know the reasoning as it’s the Lords plan for us and we will only know and see it when he’s ready for us to.

Just got back from visiting him and my wife at the hospital. They moved him out of the PICU and into the regular pediatric unit within the hospital. He’s doing fantastic. He’s now eating from the bottle and hopefully getting the rest of his jewelry off and out tomorrow. Talks of coming home tomorrow night or Friday. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for all the prayers.

I do love readin' good news!
Still standing up on my Prayer Bones for you all!

Many's the time I'd tell people the best part of running on the medic squad was when I filled in with the non-emergency transport and we got to take people home where they belong!
Let us know when he's home where he belongs!

Thanks I absolutely will. We thought it was going to be today but the Dr wants to run an echo on his heart to make sure everything is good with the murmur he has.

Just.curious to know if you are allowed to have firearms or other dangerous weapons in your home in order to be foster parents?

Depends on the state and sometimes the agency. In general, many states do have some degree of storage requirements (locked, ammo stored separately).

We absolute are allowed to have them in our home. They need to be locked in a safe separate from any ammo or means of ammo.  It’s not just firearms or weapons that we have to keep locked up and or away from children’s reach all medicine and alcohol need to be away from Absolutely no smoking of any type. No marijuana regardless of form and regardless of it being legal in our state.

Got back from the hospital little while ago. He has been moved back to the PICU for time being as he started having troubles breathing again and needed some extra one on one care that the floor he was on wasn’t able to accommodate.

What's that have to do with this little baby and his family needing Prayers??? Wrong place for that question in my not so humble opinion. Send a PM or start another thread for crying out loud.

🙏 Continuing up Sheriff 🙏

His stats improved last night and is back to being bottle fed. Still a lot of junk in lungs from the RSV but all was looking so much better last night. Saw him on FaceTime at 4 am this morning as he was eating. He’s a fighter. Poor little guy has spent more of his life in that PICU/NICU than he has out of it.

HES got this

Went to see home last night. When I left this am at 530 he was fast asleep. His stats kept dropping and they are still trying to get the gunk out of his lungs. Still on feeding tube. No new projected come home date. Hopefully soon though.

Thanks for the continued prayers.
