Mine used to be displayed along with name badges on shelves in my office at work until I retired in 2024 then they came home and are in a box.  This year I have put 4 nice buckles I got since then in shadow boxes on the wall with lesser ones and name badges going in the box with the others.

My wife has allowed me one corner in the living room where I have a Lawyer's bookcase, Library table and old VHS tape cabinet.

The first picture is on top of the VHS cabinet and the last picture is extra buckles inside the VHS cabinet.

I am unsure what the market (or market value) would be for these. Most folks don’t want buckles or trophies they didn’t earn. When my friend Midway passed, he had boxes and boxes of trophies, plaques and belt buckles. Most went to the landfill. There is a similar problem with big and small game mounts. Very difficult to find buyers or even people who will just take them off your hands.

Joe, any grandkids that might like a souvenir?

Throw the brass ones in your case recycle bucket and get some buck for it.

Bronze you can melt into ingots and sell to casters.

Nickle, trash.

Pewter, if you have any, same as bronze.

That's what I do with mine. I cast pewter, bronze, copper and silver jewelry. This saves me bucks in materials.

What would be the melting point for the Bronze?  Pewter, I know I can melt.

Broze, depending on alloy and content, between 1562 and 1922 F

I use an oxy acetylene set up with a rose but tip. Sprinkle a little flux on top to pull the impurities and melt away.

If you're doing ingots, turn the acetylene on and smoke up the molds before adding oxygen to heat them.

Melt in a crucible while keeping the mold in the heat, then pour. Keep the torch on the metal and mold when pouring to make a better pour.

My daughter has a bunch of buckles from different equestrian events acquired over the past 20 years.   Most are rodeo related.  We found her a display coffee table at a used furniture store and her buckles are all front and center in her living room.  There are great memories contained within the table.

Joe,

I cut some slats for wall in reloading room..  I beveled the back so to accommodate hook of buckle and stabilize it better.  Much more presentable than a tray of  maybe twenty WR buckles and other misc matches since 1999.

Some of the more generic buckles I've started giving to kids as a prize if they make really, really good improvement in a subject they've been struggling with over the year.

When we substitute teach, we wear very nice buckles and western attire. Some of the kids notice the buckles and ask about the sport.

Well, they want one!

So, I work out a deal with their regular teacher, and they set some goals/tasks for the student to improve their grades.

They must EARN their buckle.

At the end of the school year, with their teacher's approval, they get a buckle to take home as a reward for a job well done.

Now that Chuck Norris has joined God's Posse, I suspect that all of the championship shooting buckles us mere mortals have earned will not glitter as brightly.

While I’ve never won a LR, WR, or EOT buckle (and not likely to!!!!) I have a bunch of other annual buckles. I really wish smaller annuals would give out Yeti tumblers or something useful like that.
my home club only gives buckles to category winners at “Gunfight at Gamble Gulch” (shameless plug, 2nd weekend in December) because there is no second place in a gunfight!

It is kinda.  As you get older, some things just don't matter as much.  When I got my very first Winter Range buckle and trophy for 3rd place in 2012, it REALLY meant something to me.  I'd been shooting for quite awhile and finally decided to get better.  It was also at a time when there were a lot in category because we only had Duelist and Senior Duelist at that time.  Now I just don't really get too concerned about buckles

Thing sure change.  Now the nice trophies matches once gave out have SO greatly increased in cost they are no long viable.  I wonder how much the Molly belts will eventually cost?
Some trophy shops are now reselling trophies with a new label.
