Calamity Kris Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I just saw this last night. What is your take on it? We have some thoughts but I want to hear yours first. 1 1 Quote
John Kloehr Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I did like that the series resulted in a movie which "completed" the story. The opening credits for the series were amazing, the producer did not realize that was the special effects budget for the entire season, not just the first episode... So then back lot western sets and such for the rest of the season. 2 Quote

Crazy Gun Barney, SASS #2428 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Been a whole series of clips of Nathan Fillion talking to the rest of the cast saying stuff like “it’s time”. Hope something cool comes out of this. That was a great show. Quote
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I'm just guessing here, but I think that it might be a gathering at a Sci Fi Convention. The problem with rebooting the show, is that Disney owns it now. If Disney were to produce it, Mal would be a buffoon, Zoe would be the Boss Bi..h, and probably sleeping with Anora. Jayne would be a flaming gay, probably sleeping with Simon. That just leaves Kayle and River, and who knows what they'd be up to. 1 1 Quote
Chantry Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) I guess we'll find out Sunday, which is when there is supposed to be announcement by Nathan and maybe others. Nathan, Gina and Morena are all currently on TV shows Alan's character is dead Sean & Summer don't seem to be working, Jewel is working, but has nothing listed as coming up Ron is dead Joss Whedon is so toxic that no studio will hire him due to credible sexual harassment charges on several of his TV shows. Given the above, a live action show seems unlikely, but a cartoon show might be possible since the actors can do that when they aren't working on their TV shows. They could probably do episodes that take place between the end of the TV show, but before the movie. Edited March 12 by Chantry 1 Quote
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I would be happy if they just rerun the series and movie! 2 3 Quote

I never saw it on television, but my understanding is they did not show them in the order they were shot. They did not show them in the order they were supposed to be shown. 1 Quote

Calamity Kris Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 We purchased the DVD and the movie as soon as they came out. We'll have to sit down with some popcorn and run them again soon. 2 Quote
Pat Riot Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I saw something online about a reboot but I can’t seem to find it now. I own the Firefly series on Amazon Prime. How weird is that? I own it but I can’t touch it. It’s virtual. Weird. I hope it’s not an animated show. Anyway, here’s a link about the interaction of the original actors lately. https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/this-weeks-highly-anticipated-firefly-announcement-finally-got-the-update-weve-been-hoping-for/ 1 Quote
Dapper Dave Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I wonder how long it took them to film that, considering he has a beard and mustache in two of the clips... As for bringin' the show back, IF...IF they don't make it woke, HELL YES! I loved that show. The movie was good, too. Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I was thinking it was for the podcast. Or the release of a line of bobbleheads. 1 Quote

Pat Riot Posted March 13 Posted March 13 J**** C*****!!! I thought it was going to be a new movie or series announcement, not a #%$& ing talk show about what it was like to be in the show. 1 Quote

Calamity Kris Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 If the bobble head dolls and comic-con appearance are all this is about, I will be greatly disappointed. I thought they had more class than that. But then again, I guess money talks loudly............ 5 Quote
Calamity Kris Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 (edited) I just picked this up from the blog of Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. oncewewerespacemen Some of you have guessed convention, podcast, or cross-over. You are wrong. oncewewerespacemen It’s not bobbleheads… https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVwbqQblUzv/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Edited March 14 by Calamity Kris Add Comment. 1 1 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I really don’t care for animated stuff very much! Disappointing! 1 Quote
Pat Riot Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I am a big Star Trek fan, yet I can’t watch the animated Lower Decks series. I refuse. Just as I will not watch an animation of Firefly. I wonder, do these producers think we are a bunch of kids? Or childlike adults? Ridiculous. Quote
Texas Joker Posted March 15 Posted March 15 There are plenty of animated movies or series that are not for kids. If it's new firefly stories I would watch 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I suppose they’re reaching out for newer, younger audiences. I can’t blame them for that, but I don’t have to watch it. The new Mandelorian Star Wars movie will be out in May. I’ll join some friends at a theater for that one!! Quote
