It was either second or third grade. Do re mi. "Tea, a drink with German bread". I had no idea what "German bread" was (years later I learned about pumpernickel, but not back then) but that's what they were singing. Then many years later I saw the movie, and Julie Andrews has got very precise diction. And I learned it was jam and bread. Okay, that makes sense too. Quote
