Got an email a little bit ago. Don't know how I got on their mailing list but I opened it because it said free shipping on a lot of stuff. Not everything, but a lot.

Rio 12 gauge, 7 and 1/2 shot, 1 and 1/8 ounce, 1,200 ft per second. Says it's a target load. $89.99 for 250 rounds.

So that's $9 a box with free shipping. Is that a good price? I haven't bought shotshell in years. Haven't been to a match in years.

NOT BAD,, I’ve been paying $12 for WIN AA LNLR, some others are cheaper.

I have a bit of some sort of RIO, a somewhat hot load. I'm mostly using it up on clays. As to price, that might be fair. Have to look at the total with shipping.

Ammoseek shows the least expensive RIO 12 GA 7-1/2 shot is $7.20/box of 25 plus shipping. Paying $9.99 with free shipping might be a good deal.

Yes.  Bunch of skeet shooters at the club I shoot skeet, just ordered a bunch of cases of shotgun shells when they got a shipment of more clay birds.  I think they paid $8.99 for the economy Winchester which isn't as good as the Rio.   No shipping because it was included the tractor trailer shipment for the clay birds.   I generally go through a case of 12 gauge shells every 5 weeks and the guys I shoot with go through more.

Second the sentiment @Texas Lizard posted.

Last time I bought shotshells locally it knocked the hell out of a seventy dollar bill for... TWO BOXES of 28 ga. :o

No home delivery allowed in california; plus, in addition to the P-R tax we all support, we have to pay for a background check, sales tax, AND an 11% "nasty old gun-owner" tax.

Hmm... Trueshotammo.com looks to be a legitimate and known company does not look to be a cyber-squat either.

But when checking out, keep in mind entering a real credit card (this does show as an option in checkout) even though these other options can be selected:

Apple Pay and Google Pay prohibit using their services for ammo purchases. True Shot Ammo does sell other things (accessories) which are allowed by those payment methods.

I had a couple of boxes of Rio’s a few years ago. They were kinda hot and didn’t come out of my SxS very well. If you’re using a 97 they’re fine.

I got a extra Mec Jr 12g I will sell you for 125.00 plus shipping.

I was just at Bass Pro and the cheapest 12g they had worked out to .40 per round.

I find it funny that TrueShot lists 1

box for .35 per round-

but if you select 10 boxes it goes up to .36 per

SHORT ANSWER IS YES , for trap loads that are suitable for our game , you can reload for a little leass but thats so minimal it does not compensate for your time , you can load lighter and many of us do , but it costs more if you factor your time , many of us have a lot of time , some not so mush

I load on a Lee Load All, it’s slow but I only load for cowboy and occasionally I pick up some AA LRLN when I can find them at a decent price. I also have some AA Light target loads which are surprisingly hotter than the LRLN.
