Have a Uberti Cattleman that when it is not cocked and you pull the trigger it acts like the beginning of a double action.

I think what he was saying is that as he pull the trigger, the hammer begins to move back as if cocking it similar to a double action revolver.  I think that's what he's saying.

That is correct.  It is not freemoving.  Like the trigger is rubbing on the hammer or is too wide.  Cocks and releases properly.

It shoots perfectly.  I will shoot it until it fails, then I will

 Smooth it up.  A little friction is good.
