Buckshot Bear Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Are you a heavy user of Tabasco sauce? Does a 150ml bottle last very long in your house? 1 Quote

Sheriff Dill Posted February 24 Posted February 24 We only use Tabasco sauce for making wing sauce. It last about 6 months. For hot sauces I use “crafted “ ones as they taste better and not so vinegary. I prefer the ones that only take a drop or two to be able to make your mouth on fire. Here’s my current one I’m finishing off . My kids buy me different ones when they go on trips 1 Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Tabasco only. I don't like the flavor of any other hot sauce and I don't use it for the heat, just the flavor. I goes on almost everything except Cheerios and ice cream....well, not quite. I use about a bottle every three months, and about half that much Kikkoman soy sauce. I also use about a quarter of that amount of Lea and Perrins brand original worcestershire sauce on some beef dishes, and HP sauce on some pork. I didn't even have any ketchup / catsup in my house until my kids came to visit a couple of weeks ago. All four of them use it on potatoes and hamburgers. The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted February 24 Posted February 24 That bottle would last me 3-4 months 1 Quote
Sedalia Dave Posted February 24 Posted February 24 When my grandsons were in the sandbox that bottle might last one of them 10 days. 1 1 Quote
Gracos Kid Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I captured and arrested a North Carolina fugitive who was wanted for assaulting a woman with a coat hanger and then pouring a bottle of Tobasco sauce inside her...........(Sorry for going off topic, but Tobasco made me relive that moment) 1 2 Quote
Old Man Graybeard Posted February 24 Posted February 24 To me...Tobasco is just hot. I like some of the other brands that have more pepper flavor and not just fire 1 Quote
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Don't use it, never liked the taste. 2 Quote

Rip Snorter Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I keep several kinds of hot sauce - usually a minor ingredient in a recipe. Frank's Original Hot Sauce a staple for wings. 2 Quote
Stump Water Posted February 24 Posted February 24 For a condiment I prefer Texas Pete - it's local yanno. 12 oz (355 ml) bottle will last about 6 months. 1 Quote
Smokin Gator SASS #29736 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I use Tabasco and other hot sauces. Red and green. For specific things I like Tapatio. 2 Quote
Wild Eagle Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Two or three months. A quick snack of mine is Tabasco sauce sprinkled on a bowl of Fritos, but I use it on a lot of things. I usually have 4 or 5 different hot sauces around as I like the pepper flavor. Tabasco brand Jalapeno sauce makes a nice aioli for crab cakes and Habanero sauce goes well on nachos, etc. 1 Quote

I liked red Tabasco until I tried green Tabasco on my steak. Then i tried Tapatio and I haven’t had a bottle of Tabasco in years. I do like Frank’s hot sauce on wings occasionally. 1 Quote
Brett Black Posted February 24 Posted February 24 About 2 Months. I only use Tabasco for breakfast. I use Franks for everything else. BB 1 Quote

At a gathering, like the commercial, I said I put that s%$t on everything, while I was eating white cake. My coworker said prove it. So I did, and it was darn good! 1 1 Quote

Interestingly, I had a college class with one of the girls in the McIlhenny family. She was really nice and friendly. 1 Quote
Pat Riot Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I cannot believe I forgot this sauce. I love this sauce on smoked chicken wings. It pretty much goes with any meat. It is not a hot spicy sauce. It’s more of a garlic sauce with the spice of hot peppers. Interestingly enough it doesn’t go well with Mexican food. At least it doesn’t for me. That is where the Tapatio shines. 3 Quote
Horace Patootie, SASS #35798 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Never cared for tabasco but really like Cholula. 2 Quote
