It says it has a heel magazine. I assume that means a heel clip magazine catch.

But since the magazine extends several inches past the bottom of the pistol grip, I don't see how it can.

That tab right at the bottom of the grip in the back.

This drawing might explain it.

It's a STEN derivative. open bolt slamfire blowback. The spine on the mag has a notch partway down. Heel latch catches it and holds it in place.

ATF decided open bolt guns were bad JuJu. But they are a lot easier to make at home

Actually, the M3A1 Greasgun had a bit of simple, if crude, elegance about it!

It ain’t pretty, but it doesn’t look anywhere near as ugly as that abomination!  That thing ain’t even LEGO quality!!

The drawings are of the SM-90, pictured bottom right.  Which aren't the MP2, pictured upper right.

The M-3A1 was simple, crude, rugged, reliable, and almost infallible.  It had about as many functional parts as a Zippo lighter.  I had one for  short time in 'Nam before I got my hands on a Tommy gun, which was more attractive, more complicated, and more expensive...but I liked it better because it was 'cooler'.

The 'grease gun' was a more sensible solution.

Same and i bought one, but i can see why the ugly one would be useful , Thompson is heavy

i cannot argue with you there , you can carry more ammo if you carry the lightest one , i would go with that in a combat situation long as its been proven to function reliably , there is a reason we issued the grease guns in WWII
