(A ‘73 of course, with the handguard removed😆) and is showing it off to a couple of guys. The money guy is a big rich German fella who, after shooting a few rounds says, “I must have ze designs of ziss rrrifle at any cost!”. He offers $10,000 over the highest bidder. Turns out he’s a spy wanted by the US Marshals Dexter refuses to sell it to a European what with all those pesky wars over there. He grabs it by the barrel and swings it down on a boulder to destroy it. But apparently the script said for the big German to fire 2 rounds at the beginning of the scene. He only fired one. The rifle smashes down on the boulder. Wood shatters, metal bends. KABang! The gun fires!!! For a split second you can see the shock and surprise on actor Phil Tead’s face. But he recovers and prepares for another swat at the rock. I assume the director said “CUT” at that point because the camera is suddenly on the German’s face and Dexter is standing in another position. The show goes on. Imagine if something like that would happen today ………..Oh wait….😉 2 Quote
