Vincent Black Shadow motor cycles

Just got a notice that a friend from long ago has died at 96 years old.  He was a mentor when I got into financial services and was a millionaire a couple of times over.  

 

He had two hobbies.  He collected very expensive cellos ( about 13 or 14 of them which he played on a professional level) and Vincent Black Shadow motorcycles (six of them).  He drove one every day and had a room in his house for the others...and a ton of pictures, advertisements, magazine articles, and other stuff.

 

He and his wife were also top grade chefs.  One summer they tried  to feed the entire office to death.  You could walk in the door on Monday morning and gain six or seven pounds by noon just from being in the same room with what they brought.

 

His wife was three years younger and died six years ago.

 

They were an interesting couple.  She was a tall, very blond Norwegian lady and he was a fairly tall, stout muscular Japanese man.  When they got married that just wasn't acceptable and they fought prejudices their entire lives.

 

I miss them both very much.

They will live as long as they are fondly rembered. RIP - the majority of family and friends have passed but there isn't a day that one or all don't cross my mind.

The Shadow was/is a legendary, iconic, watershed moment in motorcycle history!!

 

Forty! You and I have discussed your friend and mentor before! I know you will miss him!  I offer prayers for peace and comfort to you, his friends, and his family!

 

As others have said, he’ll live on so long as you and others remember him!
