Hopefully, everyone with a WTB ad is on their guard. This person is hitting every WTB ad in the classifieds.

I have been watching his activity. He has been going through the WTB ads. I am going to say he is using a fake SASS number.

Yep, scammer he is. He just PM’d me about a 28 gauge MEC Super Sizer that his buddy has for sale. Reported.

I find it interesting that people complain here about how hard it is to register on the Wild Bunch site but scammers can get registered here as easy as an illegal alien can get a driver’s license in California…

The following link provides guidance for creating a "New Members" group as the default when people join the forum. This group is set up without private messages. Then set up automatic promotion to "members" after some minimum post count (many sites use 5, some go as far as 30 content posts for enabling private messages. And finally, publish the policy in the forum rules/FAQs to inform members. The  big nuisance would be handling (or not) the potentially hundreds of members here who have never made a post, but I suspect the scam problems come soon after they sign up.

It basically stops these nuisances of signups just to send private messages for "a friend who has every single thing everyone is looking for."

Sadly, the phone number can be faked. There are apps to do so. If you watch the show Catfish, you get a lesson on how someone can hide who they truly are.
