Rusty Gun Restoration Videos

Anyone seen those rusty gun restoration videos on YouTube? There's a ton of 'em.

Are they 💩?

The rust seems heavy, but it comes off really easy and doesn't ever seem to leave any pitting.

They garner a helluva lot of views, I'm thinking that there may have been a few legitimate resto's, but scammers have jumped on it being lucrative and now the majority are fakes.

Take a look at Kinzler Brothers. They seem very legit. I look forward to their videos.

Yes, I think the success of the Kinzlers channel has caused the scammers/fakers to try and cash in on the niche.

The Kinzlers resto's you can always see deep pits from where they have removed the rust.

Definitely check out Mark Novak's "Anvil" videos.  Fun stuff, from a cigar-smoking, cello-playing, master gunsmith.  :)

They tend to be lengthy (Mauser example link below), but are not boring at all and will keep your attention.  ^_^

Not talking is the best part of Kinzler Brothers. They have an onscreen "closed caption", if you will. They do talk while at the range test firing after, though. Here's one that might interest you.

If I had that gun I'd build a floor lamp with a base and barrel brace for it so I could show it off right in my living room.

It really turned out splendiferous.
