Hello Pards,

I was looking on GunBroker and found some deals on brand new products.

Seller has a great amount of history and good ratings......

What is everybody's opinion of GunBroker?

Thanks

I've never had a problem with a gunbroker purchase.

You've done the homework, so I wouldn't expect a problem.

In general I think GB can be a great resource. I don't necessarily trust the Letter Rating, ex. "A+", but do look at the number of items that a seller has sold. Make sure to add in shipping costs, cc fees, and (if required) transfer fees.

I’ve only bought one gun on Gun broker maybe 10 years ago, it was a 3rd gen Colt used but never fired . Got a pretty good price on it too!

Going on 25 years on Gunbroker - I've got some really good deals, and only got screwed once that I can remember. A S&W 38 Double Action Perfected, described as being in good working condition, and "function tested". I received it, and it was literally rusted shut. When I finally got the latch to open, the cylinder wouldn't turn because the cylinder pin was bent and the cylinder was dragging on the frame. They said, "No returns, it worked fine for us". I left "F" feedback... and so did they. I contacted GB and requested the "F" be removed, as it was obviously retaliatory. They didn't remove it, but at least changed to a "B".

I don't normally buy so many this fast, but so far this year, I've picked up a nice Kel Tec P11 9mm w/Laserlyte sight for $130, and a virtually NIB Glock G43 9mm for $227. In November, I scored a NIB 4th gen Diamondback 9mm for $200, and a nice Kahr PM9 w/Crimson Trace laser sight, 3 extra mags, 5 holsters, and a new zipper soft case for $350, shipped. No sales tax in Montana, and free transfers through an arrangement with a local business. :)

I do about 90% of my business on Gunbroker. There’s no other auction site with as large of a reach to potential customers. Selling fees have steadily increased. I hardly sell any new guns because Buds among others are selling at wholesale prices. Drop shipping items that they don’t purchase until that have your money. They have good feedback but you will see comments like took forever to get after I paid right after winning the auction, or won the item but no that say they don’t have it.
If Iist something, I have it. I have had a few problems but mostly due to slow or ruff handling by USPS.

No issues.

Be sure to read the Additional  terms of sale carefully. Some have unusual requirements.

My local FFL sells on GB. Because of previous issues with shipping around the holidays, he WILL NOT ship anything between 1 Dec and 5 January. He gets a few complaints every year because buyers do not read the terms of sale even though the shipping statement is in large bold print.

Wow! He must do ok. I couldn’t imagine shutting down shipping for  1/12th of the year and the biggest sales month of the year.

He is not shutting down sales, just shipping. between Dec 1 - Jan 5 removes shipments from the high probability of damage and theft.

When shippers loose a couple thousand dollars in firearms it's not hard to see why.  The last time it took the ATF getting involved before the missing firearms were recovered.

I understand, the point I was making is that if he is not willing to ship during that time customers will likely go elsewhere.

You are correct for new items.  I have purchased from a seller like that for a used pistol I wanted.  There were not many options and this seller had the best condition example.  The ad clearly stated he would be in Florida visiting grandkids and shipping would resume upon his return.  I clicked Buy Now, checked out, and waited until my FFL called in January.

We do a great deal of business with them on transfers and sales ourselves. I just bought a set of grips for an old S&W btw.

LGS/Range sells quite a bit on Gun Broker. No problems.

Other than understanding the extra charges and fees they add after the sale it is a good venue to purchase good guns. I have bought 6 over the past 6 months. No complaints. Sellers were honest and the guns were as described.
