Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 This past week and the projection for next week is highs from the mid 70s to the low 80s. It was sunny and 80 at today's Cowtown match. Fingers crossed for continued good weather. BUT this is the winter and things can change overnight. 6 1 1 Quote

Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 My wife and I have rubber boots and rain slickers in our travel trailer for End of Trail. About one match out of every three we shoot at least one day in the rain. Besides that, there can be blizzards if we come from the north on I-40 or severe dust storms if we come from the south on I-10. Last year was lovely coming and going and during the match itself. It's winter on the North American continent.🤠 1 1 Quote

Always best to be prepared for Ben Avery. And, unfortunately rain gear should be included. See you two soon.. 3 Quote

Colorado Coffinmaker Posted February 4 Posted February 4 The weather forecasters are the only "Profession" where one can be Wrong 75% of the time and remain employed. I think they never actually go "outside" and look UP. 3 Quote
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Supposed to be 80 today BUT the wind is blowing. The Clay Target Center is filling up. Shot with a couple of people practicing trap with their long barreled 97s. With a stiff headwind trap is fun! 2 Quote
Billy Boots, # 20282 LTG-Regulator Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Wind can be my friend but I have experienced some at Ben Avery that was not kind. Fronts blown over, launched pop cans almost past 170, hay bales blown over, etc. We still had a fun time in amongst the turmoil. Then there was rain, hail, sleet, and snow all on same day. 3 1 Quote

Dapper Dave Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I'm a few miles south of there right now, but the wind is BLOWING...Remember the old joke about "there ain't nothing between here and there but a barbed wire fence, and it done blow'd down"? We had metal traffic control sawhorses blow over in a parking lot. Very little flat surface. Forecast for the area looks good, wish I could be there. 1 Quote
