Rip Snorter Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Deceased friend had similar and told me about it several years ago. Don't believe he had it deploy, but was a serious biker and thought it a gread advance in safety. Quote

It was a month ago yesterday. Every day gets a little better. I can finally talk about him for a bit without breaking down. Life goes on but it will probably never be the same. 2 1 1 Quote

Bike flipped and landed on him crushing him. God of spirits and of all flesh, Who hast trampled down death and overthrown the Devil, and given life to Thy world, do Thou, the same Lord, give rest to the soul of Thy departed servant in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away. Pardon every transgression which he has committed, whether by word or deed or thought. For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind; because there is no man who lives yet does not sin, for Thou only art without sin, Thy righteousness is to all eternity, and Thy word is truth. For Thou are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of Thy servant who has fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, who is from everlasting, and Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever unto ages of ages. Amen Grant rest eternal in blessed repose, O Lord, to the soul of Thy servant who is fallen asleep, and make his memory to be eternal. May God watch over you and comfort you in your time of grief. Your son has now joined "the cloud of witnesses" of which St. Paul spoke. And,as was written in the Gospel according to St. John, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." 2 Quote
watab kid Posted February 2 Posted February 2 back in the 50s we road our bikes every day with no protection at all , very few of us got hurt and those that did were doing something stupid , yes some of us did stupid stuff but our parents told us if you do dtupid stuff you can get hurt - we all knew when we did stupid stuff , i used toi laugh at the bubble wrap kids - now im no longer amused we are protecting ourselves from chit we need immunity from - exposure and experience will train those that our destined to survive , what scares me is that we are protecting ourselves out of survival , no one learnbs to be naturaly safe by making good choices anymore - they put on protecytive gear and figure they are immune to all the ills of the world , aint true the woke need to wake up to reality , life is good but watch your six Quote
sassnetguy50 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 In fairness, there is a big difference between bikes of the 50s and today. Quote
