Billy Boots, # 20282 LTG-Regulator Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Winchester even gives places to shop for these Low Noise-Low Recoil 12 Ga. shotgun shells but I am not finding they actually exist at these stores. Anyone laid eyes on them anywhere? Quote
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Don't know about a store front but Midway shows them in stock. Winchester AA Low Recoil Target 12 Ga Ammo 2-3/4 #8 Lead Shot 7/8oz Randy 3 1 Quote
Jack Spade Posted January 30 Posted January 30 As stated above, check Bass Pro and Cabelas. Saw them at both places last week. Quote
Yellowstone Vic SASS#32968 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 B2, If you are already in AZ, BassPro / Cabelas is showing 0 available and not available to ship to store. Midway is approx $138 + Tax with free shipping (no PO Boxes). Federal subsonic (high brass - work well for many shooters (Me, Sass Dancer, Toranado) are available from Midway and Rogers Sporting Goods. around $140 at Midway and $150 at RSG (Free shipping both) Have done much business with both. Ammoseek not showing much available. My understanding is that the LRLN are a periodic run and they may not have made their production run for the year. Vic 1 Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) I find them occasionally at a WalMart. I bought them at a LGS about a month ago, I bought the 4 boxes that was left , Edited January 30 by Rye Miles #13621 Quote

Vic Vic I think you are right about the periotic runs. I had in my cart at Bass Pro but before i ordered they were removed as out of stock. Sassy Boots likes them and I do also for practice. Feds did not suck as well for her. Figure I will see ya soon. Quote
Cayuse Jack, SASS #19407 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Years ago when I used to buy them from a wholesaler that was local to me, he told me that Winchester only made them once a year and when they were gone they were gone. He said that Winchester would do the run in February so if that’s still true then it’s almost time for them to do another run. 1 1 Quote
Boggus Deal #64218 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 There were none at Cabela’s in Albuquerque today. 1 Quote
Billy Boots, # 20282 LTG-Regulator Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 Bet none in Phoenix either. I'm good for now but like to keep my eye out. When practicing I sometimes sub most any load for second barrel. Seems I never notice, especially if shuck is not important. For that second barrel practice I may have to pick up some Federal Pink Top Gun as they seem to be cheaper than most. Estate also cheaper and in that 1145 velocity range as the Pinks. Do you see the Pink ones often around ABQ? I guess I need to try a couple boxes before ordering a case. Finding prices on Internet at pretty wide spread. $9-$11/box. Quote

I “think” the Walmart in Edgewood has them. Unless they’ve changed, the pink are the same load as their red, white and blue ones. Not exactly light. Quote

Their load at 1145 is probably more felt recoil than STS or AA Xtra-lites. LN-LR being less powder and shot at 980 and I can sure tell difference if first barrel even versus STS. 1 Quote

Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 You could try the Federal Metro Loads at 900 fps. They're ribbed and may not work well in doubles, but they are light on recoil. Quote

Assassin Posted January 31 Posted January 31 I purchased a couple cases last year. Almost every shell hung up in my shotgun. I tried several guns. Ended up having to run them through my press to resize them and make them round. Had one round that failed to fire. I'll stick with Remingtons. 1 Quote

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 ALL brands of shotshells have occasional problems. The night before a match I run my shells through the Slix case checker. Green arrow. Any shell that does not drop FREELY all the way to the rim and dump just as freely on the way out goes into a Roger Rapid case taper die that I have installed into a very old Mec case conditioner. Red arrow. If the round still will not freely drop into the case checker it does not go to the match. Quote
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Probably the best hull on the market is the Remington STS. However even they have occasional problems. The most common is a case head separation. The brass case head is crimped on the one pieced extruded hull and sometimes the crimping is too light. 1 1 Quote
