Blackwater 53393 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Jerry Lewis was fastest according to Bob Munden himself. I caught Munden’s show on more than one occasion and he said it more than once. Sammy Davis Jr. was most notable because he actually participated in sanctioned fast draw competitions. James Garner often got honorable mentions, especially for his gun spinning! 4 Quote
WOLFY Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Munden ranked the fastest hollywood actors: 1. Jerry Lewis 2. Sammy Davis Jr 3. Clint Eastwood 4. Glen Ford * Jerry Lewis’ speed was clocked at between .3 and .4 second Edited January 23 by WOLFY 3 Quote
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I never considered myself any kind of fast draw, but heck, In my prime about 10 years back, I could draw and fire a LIVE round in the low .3 range. And my pistol was a standard Ruger Vaq, not short stroked and using factory standard hammer. I would think 'Fast Draw' would atleast be in the .2 range. ..........Widder 3 Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Arvo Ojala was supposedly the fastest even though he wasn’t a Hollywood star but he taught most of them mentioned. He was recorded at 0.2 seconds Edited January 23 by Rye Miles #13621 2 Quote
Stump Water Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I've never heard Munden say it, but I've heard it was Jerry Lewis pretty much forever. Quote
Chantry Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Saw a similar video a week or so ago with a part about Audie Murphy being challenged by another actor repeatedly as to who was faster. It wasn;t until this video that the actor Hugh O'Brien was named as that actor and that he stopped asking when Audie Murphy said something to the effect of 'Let's use live ammo". 1 Quote
Alpo Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Jerry Lewis might be the fastest of the old time Hollywood gunslingers. Get that gun out of the holster quick. Spin it around. Flip it in the air and catch it. But I bet in a real life gunfight he would lose. Because I don't think he has any clue what a gun is. Looking at that video where they throw it to him and he misses it and it bounces across the floor, for comedic effect. Where he tries to holster it and he drops it, for comedic effect. It's not a gun. It's a prop for his act. Quote

Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 My best time was 1.2 seconds under three minutes. No brag, just fact. I met Sammy Davis and Ben Cooper both. Rodd Redwing would have been up there too. 1 Quote
