Tn Tombstone Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I am working on the stages for both the KY State and Black Gold, if you have any suggestions you are welcome to submit them, realize I will probably edit out words like Sweep, double tap and triple tap. Lets go to Kentucky. 1 1 Quote

Tn Tombstone Posted January 25 Posted January 25 looking out at the ice and snow, I am feeling that KY in July is not too bad. Just remember this little storm and that should keep you cool in July. Lets go to Kentucky 2 2 Quote

Waimea Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Black Gold is my favorite match of the year. Lots of great shooting and way more shenanigans than the average shoot. Hillbilly Olympics is always a favorite. Especially when participants get wet. It's just plain fun. The spelling bee. The food contests. The side games. The swap meet. (I still pine after some deals I passed on.) And the music after hours. Alcohol runs pretty freely, in fact, beer comes out of the wall. It all makes Black Gold special. 2 Quote

I'll give you our address in France. She can come and visit. You can too, if you're of a mind to. 20 hours ago, Tn Tombstone said: Waimea, it so good you remember us and the shoot. Its been so long. I will always remember it and the fun we had. It's the best party (shoot) in SASS. Like Lady T says "It's like going to a family reunion except you actually like the people". 😀 1 2 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 We’ve been trying to remember when the first Black Gold Shootout was!! Copperhead and I and a few others haven’t been able to nail it down! T-Bone and Miss Ellie have a photo from one of the matches and they’re pretty sure it’s from 2011. I have an award certificate from the first official match at Ponderosa Pines that’s dated March 17th, 2012. None of us seems to be able to remember!🙄🤪😵💫 🤣🤣GO FIGURE!!🤣🤣 Quote

It was the first time I met Tombstone and Lady T and the cloud of people that surrounded them. It was in St Augustine at the Florida State match. We all went to dinner at the Crabhouse. I was sitting next to Joe and he started talking about Black Gold and told me I HAD to come. Then he started talking about the food and side entertainment. Then Creek chimed in about Hillbilly Olympics. I asked how much all this fun was and he said $100. I couldn't believe my ears. When I got home I told wife I was going to Kentucky! (Her version is somewhat different. Crying and begging is how she puts it.😜😂) Anyhow, I did go and it was fantastic. Price is a little higher now but the value for your money and time still can't be beat. 2 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 WELL NOW THAT THE DUST HAS SETTLED FROM THE SHOOTOUT IN THE HILLS, it’s time to get the BLACK GOLD SHOOTOUT back on the front page!! I haven’t failed to attend this match since it was first put on! I had to miss the Shootout in the Hills this time, but barring them throwing dirt in my face, I WILL be there for this event!! There’s still some camper spots available and the roster is still growing! I think there’ll be plenty of celebration for our 250th year as a nation and if ya’ miss it, you’ll probably wish you hadn’t!! Y’all cler yer calendars, get yer gear sorted out, get yore bonafides in, and saddle up and head this way!! 2 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) Thanks, Doc!! Cat and Copperhead are not only the driving force behind The Black Gold Shootout and the Kentucky State SASS Championship Match! They are also the traveling ambassadors for the club at Ponderosa Pines as well!! At the moment, they are traveling between several state matches here in the Southeast and elsewhere. Please be patient. An early “Who’s Coming” list will be forthcoming as soon as those applications that have already arrived are sorted and compiled. As of now there are no vacancies in the cabins/“Cat House” but there is a waiting list that you can get on by submitting a request on the Ponderosa Pines website. There are still some camping spots available, but they are going fast. Again! You can reserve your spot, while they last, by submitting your request on the website! The website can be accessed via https://ponderosa-pines.com/ We’ll try to keep y’all updated on the goings on right here or you can email Cat at the address supplied on the website and she’ll get back to ya’s as time permits. In the meantime, get yourselves ready for a great event where ‘bout everyone is part of the family!! Edited May 13 by Blackwater 53393 1 Quote
