Blackwater 53393 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I hate to say this, because I enjoy my times at Ponderosa Pines so much, but my grandson, The Bopper, is graduating from high school this spring. He’s very active in the drama department and scholastically excelling. April and early May bring his last show with the school’s drama club, of which he’s the president and a lead performer. He’s also being honored for his academic achievements, his acting, and then there’s the graduation ceremony. I’m gonna have to miss the Shootout in the Hills this year.😟 I’m still going to forward all the news and noise!! Y’ALL STAY TUNED!! 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) The match is just three weekends away!! It’s gonna be a good one! We’re approaching the nation’s 250th birthday and I know of at least one stage where y’all will get to celebrate it!! I’m wishing that I could be there and I hope everyone enjoys it! It’s gonna be a blast!! GIT THOSE APPLICATIONS IN!! SADDLE UP ‘N’ COME ON!! Edited April 5 by Blackwater 53393 Quote
Tn Tombstone Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Blackwater, you will be missed. Keep family first, there will be other shoots of course. I have been trying to proof the shooters book and a few things come to mind. Fast is one of them. Plenty of different ways to shoot most stages. Ky State will not see 1776 but Black Gold might. Plenty of new targets, some “old" new targets that have come home to roost. Many shooters will know them when they see them. Its shaping up to be another good one. See everyone in a few weeks. 1 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I liked the 1776 stage! Outlaw friendly!! Cat says that there are still RV camping space available for KY State! For those of you who are not familiar, there are clean restrooms and shower facilities on the property and you can even do a little fishing if you’re of a mind!! Quote
Chas B. Wolfson, SASS #11104 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Annie and I had an absolute hoot last year at this match. Incredible location and venue along with the most welcoming folks you will find anywhere. Wish we could be there again but the regular date falls on the same weekend as the NASCAR race at Talladega which we pay for every year or loose the camping slot and seat location. Do wish all attending at great time. We both will be there in spirit. Chas B and Apple Annie Quote

Please don’t tell us you’re gonna use those chicken targets. They’ll be a lot harder to get out of Joe’s pond than they were T-Bone’s 2 Quote
doc roy l. pain Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) All kidding aside, I never really had trouble with the chickens. They will make you use your sights and I think they bring a good balance to the match. “Damn the chickens, full speed ahead” Edited April 6 by doc roy l. pain 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I actually prefer the chickens to those skinny Indians down at Memphis!! OOOH! Quote
Hoss Lytle Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I went ahead and loaded some extra hot rounds for those chickens!!! Quote
doc roy l. pain Posted April 7 Posted April 7 It doesn’t take much to kill a chicken, you just have to hit them. 1 1 Quote
Hoss Lytle Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Well that is usually a problem for me. I see the target, want to hit the target but I miss the target. Pretty sure my sights are off. 1 Quote

Tn Tombstone Posted April 10 Posted April 10 You all are jumping to conclusions and clucking about chickens. I dont remember seeing chickens last time I was there. Copperhead was talking about a chicken coop but I dont think he was talking about targets was he? Anyway, just wanted to remind folks who are wondering what to do between KY State and AL State. We are welcoming folks to stay an extra night or two (have to clear that with Cat) for a volunteer appreciation day with Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa’s on Sunday. We will fix breakfast no later than noon this time. (I hope) Now if you did not volunteer dont worry, you can pay it forward. Come play on Sunday and we will volunteer you for Black Gold or KY State next year. See everyone in a few weeks. Got to get through the NRA first. 1 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Hey, TOMBSTONE ! If you get time at the NRA, stop by the Uberti booth and look over the new Volcanic pistol!! Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted Monday at 02:46 PM Posted Monday at 02:46 PM (edited) I just received an updated shooters list for the Kentucky State Match from Cat this morning! There’s still room for more folks to come and play! Edited Monday at 02:50 PM by Blackwater 53393 1 Quote
