Snakebite Dust SASS 75484 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Doubt I can make it this year. do the cabins have heat or air? do the cabin’s have a bathroom? Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 The cabins have heat and air conditioning. There’s a nice bathroom and shower in an adjacent building. That facility is reserved for occupants of the cabins/Cat House! 1 Quote

You won't be disappointed. Anything Copperhead Joe puts together is gonna be entertaining. FYI, If you haven't bought guns yet, do yourself a favor and go to a match first and talk to the shooters. You'll get lots of good advise that might save you time and money. Cowboy Action Shooting is the friendliest shooting discipline. It changed my life. 3 Quote

I think the state match would be a great experience to spectate and get a good bearing before attempting to do any sort of match myself. Hope to meet some of you all there! Quote

The very first match I went to just to watch was the Florida State match. My actual quote when I got home was, "I have found my people." I wish the same for you. 3 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 A little history from Ponderosa Pines. I shot on a posse that had about 15 or 16 shooters during the early days of The Black Gold Shootout. Every member of that posse was a current or former world, national, or state champion except for one shooter. He was, (no joke) a first time shooter! I think he had more fun than any other first time shooter in history and every other member of the posse had a hand in making his first shoot successful, educational, and an absolute blast!! Don’t make the mistake of thinking that new shooters are unwelcome at major matches!! 😜 3 Quote
Billy Burrow Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I appreciate the welcoming words and information! Sounds like I can do a good region tour of matches this year, hope to meet you all in person. 1 Quote

I told him I wasn't planning to go to the state match because I was just a beginner. He talked me into going, and it was the best advice I'd ever been given. I shot in a posse with Missouri Lefty, Missouri Traveler, Scarlett Darlin', Shamrock Sadie, Knot Hardly Dunn, and a bunch of other folks I'm still friends with today. I think I was the only person in my posse that didn't win at least a top five buckle, but I had a TON of fun. 4 1 Quote
