Dapper Dave Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I've been to seven of them. I wouldn't go to a restaurant in SOUTH Tucson on a bet. Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I’ve been in the three in Tombstone but didn’t have meals there. I was mostly disappointed with Tombstone. It had what I call the “JELLYSTONE PARK” feel to it! I DID enjoy shooting at the club down there! The match was fun and the folks were GREAT! I was much more impressed with Deadwood and with Cody Wyoming! Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I was in a couple restaurants in Tucson and I was not disappointed. A Mexican restaurant that was great and a steak joint that we enjoyed. This was in 1996 can’t remember the names. We also ate at couple in Phoenix and Scottsdale too. I thought the restaurants were great! Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I enjoy The Palace once in awhile. It's #1 on that list and maybe two miles from the World's Oldest Rodeo, also in Prescott. Quote
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 One of my favoite eateries in Tucson is a place called Tumerico. "Baby Sister" introduced Helen Brimstone and me to the place a few years ago; it's vegan/vegetarian, and kinda funky, but VERY good! I am definitely a carnivore, but whenever we visit this is the first place we'll hit. 1 Quote
Wyatt Earp SASS#1628L Posted January 17 Posted January 17 They left off Rod's Steakhouse in Williams. It opened in 1947, but it did close for a while and then reopened later. I don't know the time frame, but maybe that's why it didn't qualify. I ate there back in about 1962 when we were on vacation and stopped at the Grand Canyon. Couldn't tell you if it was good or not, I was only 8 yrs old at the time! Quote
Cholla Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) To be clear, the Palace in Prescott is not the original building. The existing building was rebuilt after the fire of 1900. The bar itself is original as it was carried out to the courthouse square across the street. I have eaten at eight on the list, and Rod's Steakhouse. Edited January 18 by Cholla Quote

T.K. Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The "EL CHARRO" Claims the Title of the birthplace of the "CHIMICHANGA" They have a whole story to back it up. Excellent food. They also sell bulk "Carne seca" dried beef ( imagine ground up beef jerky) Used in soups, omelets etc. Quote

But they never closed their doors nor stopped doing business, and the bar (made by Brunswick and best known for pool tables these days) and shell of the ice cabinet are still standing and being used all the time. 1 Quote
