(FOX26) — A piece of Central Valley railroad history is on the move. The Friends of the Historic Kingsburg Depot say Southern Pacific steam locomotive No. 1238 is expected to arrive at the Kingsburg Depot between noon and 1 PM on Monday, depending on traffic and loading conditions. https://kingsburgdepot.org/index.html Edited January 12 by Subdeacon Joe 1 3 Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I remember the day they took the Big Boy out of Pomona. They had disconnected all of her running gear and towed her away behind diesels. It was a humiliating day for her and her friends. After the rebuild I got to ride behind that big beautiful mechanical monster for a short and very expensive trip, that my wife would have never allowed had she still been alive. I have loved steam locos since my first ride when I was about three years old. 3 2 Quote
Sedalia Dave Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) I hope that "living museum" means that she will once again move on her own power. The closest man has ever come to creating life is when he invented the Steam Locomotive. Edited January 13 by Sedalia Dave 3 Quote
