Alpo Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I've noticed, while watching shorts on YouTube, that they will blank out kill or die or hurt or shoot or stab, or anything like that. And they will blank out any reference to drugs. Not just illegal drugs. Any drugs at all. A woman can say she is taking birth control _____, and they would blank out the word pills. But I was just watching a thing with nine strange animal facts. One of them said that if a mother hedgehog is startled for any reason she will unalive her babies and eat them, so that the predator can't eat them. She will unalive her babies??? 2 Quote
Dapper Dave Posted January 8 Posted January 8 That term has been around for a while, and it IS a stupid as it sounds. I have no idea why that started, but if people are such snowflakes that they can't handle the word die...wrap them in Nerf and stack them somewhere safe, away from politics and working people. . 4 2 Quote
sassnetguy50 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Unalive has been used for ten years or more. "I almost unalived myself last night." Could mean they attempted suicide, had an accident, did something dangerous, almost turned into a zombie. Unalive is not blocked by the censors, therefore the poster continues to make money from the video. It is not about snowflakes. Saying numeric cube instead of die is about snowflakes. Second or third grade class it'sis supposed to write an essay about what they are going to do over Easter vacation. And they've been ridingwriting away for a while and little Johnny raises his hand and says "Teacher, how you spell gun?" The teacher tells him. He bends back over his paper. Few minutes later he raises his hand again. "Teacher, how you spell die?" And she tells him how to spell it and he bends back over his paper. And she got to wondering and she says, "Johnny, what are you going to do over Easter?" "I'm gun die Easter eggs." Edited January 8 by Alpo 3 Quote

Warden Callaway Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Years ago I shot a short video of some simple activity on the farm. I flaged it unlisted so only people I sent the link could see it. After being up many years, I got a notice that this video's content is in violation of community standards. I had simply titled it "XXX". The video contained nothing lude or explicate. I renamed it and problem solved. I had another video flagged as hate speech because I used the words "shooting Josey Wales". I revised it somehow to take the hateful words out. 2 Quote
Stump Water Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I'm surprised that hunting videos with kill shots are still allowed... and people posing with the animal and blood is visible. 1 1 Quote

WD Farren Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) My sears water heater died. I found a comprehensive diagnostic on YouTube for Honeywell gas valves. I gave her huge kudos and props for the best “how to” YouTube I’ve seen so far. It turns out the control board failed and does this frequently. step by step she went thru checking the igniter, thermopile, thermal switch and valve actuation. I plan to start my own channel for structured programming with VBA and Excel, to pass along hard learned tricks and best practices to those coming up. Edited January 8 by WD Farren 2 Quote
watab kid Posted January 9 Posted January 9 so basically they are censoring in direct deviance of our first amendment [that we all know they are attacking] or the AI they are applying is doing it for them so they can escape the consequences ? what a revolation , its been going on for a long time in every form of media 1 Quote

However, several states are enacting their own internet rules - several states apparently now want age verification for access to porn sites, among other things. I've had a YouTube channel for years, haven't added a video in several years, but I had fun showing off guns and the range. 1 Quote

Dapper Dave Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I may be slightly off on the terminology, but that's how it was explained to me. Quote
Alpo Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 I wonder if all these people that complain about "so and so is violating the first amendment", and "that's censorship" and stuff of that nature, have ever read the first amendment? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Congress shall make no law. The federal government cannot censor. The federal government cannot tell you what you can and cannot say. The federal government. Not YouTube. Not the SASSwire. Hell, not even the state of Georgia. The federal government. So YouTube saying that something is not allowed on their site does not violate any amendment. If the Saloon (ACS) will not allow you to use certain language or post certain pictures, that does not violate any amendment. 1 2 Quote

Alpo Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Many years ago I'm visiting my daughter. My oldest granddaughter was in either first or second grade. Homework assignment was to make words using "the following vowel sounds" An, en, in, on, un Supposed to make five words using each of those vowel sounds. I told her it was simple. Just go down the alphabet. ABC - can d e f - fan. Like that. When she was doing un, I read over it and noticed she had skipped gun. Had bun, fun, but the next word was nun. I asked her why. She told me that they were not allowed to use that word. WHAT??!!?? And my daughter agreed. The school would not allow them to write the word "gun". That was a BAAAADDD word, and they would get in trouble. 3 Quote

WD Farren Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I am also old. Our skills are in different areas, that’s all. Like every other human innovation AI will be corrupted and weaponized by bad actors. My naïveté hoped for AI justice to replace biased and activist judges by having the entirety of case law at instant access. This is not to be, because AI has already been taught to hate, lie and spew TDS. 1 Quote
