Not saying this is the case but sometimes scammers can pick out an alias and just pretend to be someone else.

You could contact the ladies at SASS, you might also contact an moderator to verify if they are a legitimate member.

There is a cowboy from Pikeville Ky by that alias. Stand up guy. Don’t know if that’s who contacted you or not.

Some scammers pretend to be SASS member just to acquire a contact number and might use your contact number for some nefarious ways, I am not saying that he would do that but stay on the side of caution until verified by the SASS home office.  Have you had a for sale or wtb ad in the classified lately?  Just IMO.  Be safe.

@Rootin Tootin  Given that you have an active ad in the Classifieds, I'd bet this is an attempt to scam you or another member pretending to be you.  

 

To verify that the person is real, ask for their home club. Then contact a member of that club and ask them to verify that the person is active and is attempting to contact you. By using an independent 3rd party known only to you for verification you protect not only yourself but any potential buyer. 

 

NEVER conduct sales via phone or email.

Conduct ALL correspondence via PMs.

 

This is the only way to protect you both.

Only negotiate transactions thru SASS PMs!!  Take it from someone who has been swindled. Going thru the PMs will at least prove the person is registered, no guarantees that the deal still couldn’t go south  but at least you have a better chance tracking them thru SASS!

I will agree there is a Pepper James who shoots with the Dirty Rotten Gang in Kentucky. That does not prove this is the person making contact. I have no horse in any race, the OP needs someone to vouch this is the the actual person with an interest in something.

 

I have asked for this level of vouching in the past, damn scammers make it difficult for the legitimate inquiries. Your post does point a direction to establish an actual vouching, just does not do it unless you actually know the pard and know the contact is legit. Again, damn scammers, I am not casting aspersions on a legit person. Only recognizing there is an unknown.
