Widder, SASS #59054 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Clusterphobia: when you have a bunch of guns that you go crazy trying to shoot all of them. ..........Widder
watab kid Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 im starting to have that issue - i have too many that i like aned want to shoot and not enough opportunities
Rye Miles #13621 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 I started to think about selling off some guns I don’t shoot much anymore and wound up buying a couple that I probably won’t shoot much either. Well, I did get a good deal on both so when I do sell them I’ll get my money back plus a little. Better than a savings account!
Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 ... Rye, I think that's called "Sound Investment Strategy!"

Blackwater 53393 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 I have NO PHOBIA where shooting too many guns is concerned, a fact that any number of cowboy shooters can attest to! There have been numerous occasions where I shot as many as eight or ten guns in a five or six stage match and two documented instances where I shot forty guns in a major match!! I’ve only got two guns that I haven’t fired and I’m planning to alleviate that situation in the very near future!!
Pat Riot Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Solved Clusterphobia issues by selling guns I had lost interest in to fund guns I was interested in. My safe looks sparse but I am okay with that.

Get a two fer one. Your ammo... right?
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 good thing , I grabbed my glasses misread it as Custer Phobia what I thought , whats up with all these Indians 🤣
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 I started culling my collection about a year ago. So far I only have five more than I started with.

So far I only have five more than I started with. YEP... me too. Last year, at the start of 2025, I was gonna trim down some of my safe fillers and not buy any new ones. 12 months later, I might have let go a couple BUT, I replaced them with a 460 S&W mag, 500 S&W mag, 44 S&W 'Comp Hunter', Colt .44 Anaconda, Colt .44 Kodiak, and a couple new 1911's in .45. I also managed to acquire a super customized 6mm rifle and a super nice, new in box, Kimber heavy barrel 22-250 varmint rifle. And don't forget the great little CZ 457 in .22 LR. 2026 lurks in the shadows and I've already got my eyes on a couple new toys. ..........Widder
Rip Snorter Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Problem is, regret after the fact. Two thirds of the guns I have sold in my life, including times long past when I flat out needed the money, I wish I still owned. This even includes a few gifted to the kids, in those cases, not the gift or value but the gap in the collection stings. For those into Tolkien, the Smaug factor I suppose.
G W Wade Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Despite my good intentions of downsizing for the last couple years, I have gone on 9mm frenzy picking up a Canik, SA Hellcat Pro, an SA Prodigy and a Ruger PC carbine. Couple that with a pair if Tikka T1X's (2nd one was a deal I couldn't pass) and a Ruger MK4 22/45 Tactical. The only thing I managed to get rid of was my favorite deer rifle. A wonderfull Win 70 Feathereight in 257 Robts with Leo 3x9 on top. I have shot numerious deer with this rifle. My father shot his first deer at the age of 66 with this rifle. My son has shot numerous deer with it. Last year I gave it to my 12 yr old grandson for his 12th birthday along with the case, 10 boxes of reloads and a new knife for him to get started. Damn, I miss that rifle but I get to exercise others GW
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted December 31, 2025 Author Posted December 31, 2025 G.W., atleast that 257 gets to stay in the family. Back in 1993, my daughter was born. I immediately went out and bought her a Winchester 9422 XTR. When she got @ 10, I let her shoot it. She liked it. I kept it as a safe queen, along with the original box, until she got older. She got married a few years back. Her husband is a true red blooded Southern outdoorsman. Shoots, hunts, fishes, travels to Montana to hunt...etc..... I bought him a gun safe.....and inside of it rest a nice Winchester 9422 XTR. Its value has tripled. I miss it and wish I had bought 2 of them. But atleast its in the family and I doubt she will ever let it go. ..........Widder
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 I bought a 9422 .22 mag and a Colt Scout same (same caliber) for my son when he was nine. Both were stolen 19 years later, along with a TC .50 Hawken that he bought for himself.
G W Wade Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Plus I bought both son's a gun safe on their childrens 1st birthday. Really made bonus points with in-laws on that move GW
