David recently sold his business and the new owner’s name is Robert Houston.  I purchased a new hat from him last week for a friend of mine as a Christmas present.  Long story short, FedEx in Allentown, PA, failed to deliver the hat overnight (paid for) and they failed to deliver the next 2 days saying, “business was closed.”  I am not a business and am the only house on my block.  A quick check of the FedEx office revealed 52 reviews with all of them saying the same thing resulting in a rating of 1 of 5.  I contacted Robert and low and behold he made the delivery happen on a Sunday!  The hat is beautiful and the customer service is AWSOME as always.  Just a quick shout out for the new owner Robert!  D Bar J Hats is still alive and well.

I had an overnight FedEx a week ago, took 3 days and was delivered by a guy in an unmarked car! The crazy thing too, is the package was one prescriptions and wasn't needed immediately. Optom paid the freight, but geez "overnight" shouldn't take 3 days.

With USPS, I've had packages shipped normal ground take up to two days less than Priority.

I refuse to ship anything FedEx and I try to prevent vendors from using it to ship to me!

Hateful office staff, constant delivery delays, and damaged, (if not demolished) packages are the norm!!

Within the contiguous 41 states, I guarantee delivery to the West Coast in 3 days from the DFW, TX region. (CA, NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA VT, NH, & ME being excluded);  and the same to all points on the East Coast south of New Jersey;  all closer points are guaranteed relative to the DFW area.*  Rate is the same except to WA, OR, MD, DE, VA & FL.  PA, IL & WV are by special request only.  WA, OR, ID, MT, ND, MN, CO, WY WI & the MI UP are weather dependent.  Max weight allowable is 25,000 not to exceed 3,600 cubic feet, no minimum;  HazMat is 20¢, (35¢ if any of the Class 1 category HazMat materials), per mile extra as calculated from point of origin to destination by professional software by either shortest route or practical route... Shortest route may increase delivery time.  Residential deliveries are not guaranteed, unless on a commercial truck route.  All loading & unloading are the responsibility of shipper and consignee.  Not responsible for lawns or curbs damaged during pickup or delivery.

*  Please note, this is a one person operation, so your time of delivery may be delayed until I can return to DFW.  Which, means that if you're in WA & want something located in PA please remember I have to get to PA... then to WA... 5 days or less for transit time, plus my travel time & mileage to PA.  Note, if I have something delivering within 150 miles & 24 hours of your point of origin in PA, you only pay for mileage from PA to WA. Wait time is calculated from hour 25 onward @ $25/hr, or $500/day whichever is less.  Rates are higher to any state bordering either coast, excessively high to FL.  If your stuff is considered HazMat by the US Department of Transportation, you must have appropriate placards and all necessary, properly filled out forms ready at time of shipment.  Shipments under 15,000 lbs & <1,000 cubic feet are more flexible in delivery times;  residential deliveries are guaranteed, (again, with the exception of the 9 states listed above).   Fuel surcharges are added to rate based on the time of actual pickup, (applicable regardless of size of shipment).

Oh yes... electronic tracking is not available.  All deliveries are guaranteed except for delays caused by weather, mechanical or physical breakdowns, (or a cowboy action match enroute).

I think that you'll find FedEx, UPS or even USPS to be much more timely... AND CHEAPER than hiring me!

glad to hear he is going to make a go of that company - he will with that approach ,

not thinking much of UPS at this point - know its a busy time of year but there  are others making deliveries on time and with smiling faces - amazon has done well for my wifes needs and home depot has for me ,

Bought one of their hats when they passed through Missouri a few years ago. Great quality. If they keep it up they will do just fine.
