Crazy Gun Barney, SASS #2428 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 It is a rainy day here on Boxing Day. Nothing else to do but watch tv and prime some cases. As I finished 500 rounds of 45 Colt, it thought it might be nice to see the different brands of brass I have. It is a mixed pile of just about every brand I could think of. But I did find some I never heard of before. PMC brand +P+. I’ve see +p 45 Colt, but never +p+. How hot must those be? I imagine the whole box must be covered with warnings to use only in modern guns, no original Colts. anyway, doesn’t bother me any, my cowboy reloads don’t discriminate against brands of brass as long as they are still reloadable.
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 I'm not sure that a +P+ rating is official SAAMI standard. Unless I'm mistaken, .38 Spl. and 9mm are the only calibers with that rating. .45 Colt standard is about 14,000 PSI, while +P is at about 15,000 PSI. Any manufacturer rating their loads as +P+ is using their own recipe. But they would be fine for your use.

The brass should be fine to use.
sassnetguy50 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Buffalo Bore sells +p+ 45 Colt. Yes, it is a hot load, not as hot as 45 Casuall. It is sharp enough in a 92.
