Spaceballs

Back in about 1987 or so, Spaceballs was released upon an unaware, un-expecting, and innocent world.  Over the years I have tried to watch all of it, but never got more than about ten minutes into it until I turned it off.

 

Today I girded up my loins, fortified myself with snacks and sarsaparilla, and took my dog to another room where she would be safe, and watched the whole thing.

 

I have never before seen such totally toxic excrement, and pray that I will never again have to do so.  After something like ninety seven minutes  this abomination ended and I realized that I had lost about sixty points from my IQ, and was suffering from the shakes, dehydration, and the loss of most of  my self-respect.  My tongue was swollen and i couldn't get my right eye to focus.  I also lost several years from my visual appearance, what little color I still had in  my hair, and am suffering from shakes and increased tinnitus.

 

I am going to see if a mega-dose of  Young Frankenstein, Casper The Friendly Ghost, and the Addams Family movies can get me on the road to recovery.

I didn’t see any evidence that you were forced to watch it. Perhaps you are losing self control?

That's a good movie.

The movies and the old TV series are both good.  The cartoons really stank (past tense of stink.)

Live action movie, with Christina Ricci - think that's her name. Played Wednesday in the two Addams family movies.

 

I think they made a cartoon movie about Casper so I wanted to make sure that I was thinking about the same movie you were talking about.

I thought that Spaceballs was mildly amusing, having seen the original Star Wars trilogy and, unfortunately, a couple of the Aliens movies.

 

I wouldn’t bother watching it again…

Not a favorite, but a success compared to some of todays junk - cost $22 million and change to make, earned $37million & change.  Pretty decent ROI.

On a serious note, George Lucas took the merchandising rights for the 'Star Wars' series of films and not a cut of the box office take....

My youngest (now 40 this year) watched it endlessly until she put a dollars worth of pennies into the cartridge slot and put an end to that player.

I watched JJ about two weeks ago followed the next night by The Mountain Men, another great movie.

Not many have forced" me to do anything.  I just wanted to see if tis POS had any redeeming features.
