Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 Back in about 1987 or so, Spaceballs was released upon an unaware, un-expecting, and innocent world. Over the years I have tried to watch all of it, but never got more than about ten minutes into it until I turned it off. Today I girded up my loins, fortified myself with snacks and sarsaparilla, and took my dog to another room where she would be safe, and watched the whole thing. I have never before seen such totally toxic excrement, and pray that I will never again have to do so. After something like ninety seven minutes this abomination ended and I realized that I had lost about sixty points from my IQ, and was suffering from the shakes, dehydration, and the loss of most of my self-respect. My tongue was swollen and i couldn't get my right eye to focus. I also lost several years from my visual appearance, what little color I still had in my hair, and am suffering from shakes and increased tinnitus. I am going to see if a mega-dose of Young Frankenstein, Casper The Friendly Ghost, and the Addams Family movies can get me on the road to recovery. Pray for me.
Rip Snorter Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 Beer, beer is the answer...to many tedious experiences!

Major Crimes Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Don't panic but the sequel is in production here in Australia
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 I have never been able to watch the whole movie - only parts of it and not for very long each time.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 I didn’t see any evidence that you were forced to watch it. Perhaps you are losing self control?
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Can’t imagine watching something like that without having seen the original Star Wars.

Alpo Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 No I meant Casper. Live action movie, with Christina Ricci - think that's her name. Played Wednesday in the two Addams family movies. I think they made a cartoon movie about Casper so I wanted to make sure that I was thinking about the same movie you were talking about.
Wiley Wastelander Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 That’s amazing! I have the same combination on my luggage.
watab kid Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 never seen it and aint wasting my time - these dont interest me , ill watch die hard again - or one of the sequels
Blackwater 53393 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 I thought that Spaceballs was mildly amusing, having seen the original Star Wars trilogy and, unfortunately, a couple of the Aliens movies. I wouldn’t bother watching it again…

Dr. Zook Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 You could have saved yourself -- Jeremiah Johnson was on last night...
Rip Snorter Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Not a favorite, but a success compared to some of todays junk - cost $22 million and change to make, earned $37million & change. Pretty decent ROI.
Subdeacon Joe Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 I've never seen more than short clips of it. Even those are too much.

Pretty decent ROI. "It's all about the Merchandising! Merchandising!" - Yogurt On a serious note, George Lucas took the merchandising rights for the 'Star Wars' series of films and not a cut of the box office take....
WD Farren Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 My youngest (now 40 this year) watched it endlessly until she put a dollars worth of pennies into the cartridge slot and put an end to that player.
