John Kloehr Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 LOL, was at the grocery store today. Parking lot had few available spaces. Dropped off my friend at the entrance to get bacon (only forgotten item from previous shopping), then I went for gas before swinging back around to pick her up. No idea what folks think Christmas Spirit is supposed to be, but we saw a bunch of angry impatient customers not enjoying their day off at all, and overworked store staff running out of patience with them. 1 4 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 We hit the grocery for beverages and sausage for a party recipe! Next to NO parking and every checkout line was full! Most places were closing early and some didn’t open at all. We got out and got back home without any problems and I didn’t even raise my voice at the traffic or the crowds!! Must not have been too bad… 3 Quote
Eyesa Horg Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 (edited) Ellie and I both had our "Wellness Exams" this afternoon. Our Doc generally irritates the bejeezus out of us! I promised myself she wasn't going to do it today and I would stay good natured. Even she deserves not to have an irritable patient on Christmas eve. It all went excellent with smiles. Subdeacon Joe Posted December 25, 2025 Author Posted December 25, 2025 We had hit Safeway yesterday for more eggnog. Got there around 1030, Parking lot was almost full. They were out of eggnog except some high end stuff at about $7/quart. I went back today at 0630. The stuff we wanted was back on the shelves, with the coupon $5/half gallon. I can't make it for that. And it's a great base for french toast or bread pudding. Parking lot was half full, but people were in a good mood. 2 Quote
watab kid Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 excellent point - also not their "fault" they had to work on christmas eve because there are so many that procrastinate they just want to make a living , smile and say thank you , a bit of christmas cheeriness goes a long way 5 Quote
