What "WON'T' they say.....for your obituary (EULOGY)

The older waitress in the movie ask her customers........ "What don't you want"?

Then she started using words unrepeatable in our Saloon talk.  

 

But folks are always sharing good memories and great thoughts about those who have passed away and it made me think.....

What won't they say about me.

 

1. they won't say the room lit up when I walked in, or that I never met a girl who didn't like me.

2. they won't say I was successful in all my endeavors

3. and... they won't say that all my X's live in Texas.   

4. and they won't say I like onions.

They won't say "He sure looked good at his funeral". ....unless they're some kind of head case that gets their rocks off looking at ashes.

huh . i like ya , and that aint sayin much , but if i outlive ya ill say it . that actually might be why i like ya , 

 

as to me - i have o idea what they might say mostly cause im not there yet but partly cause i just dont care , ive tried all my life to do right , live well , be friendly and give others the benefit of the doubt till the proved otherwise  ill admit there is one person in my lifetime i dont have the time of day for but she is no longer in my life ,,,,,and no its not an ex , they both know i cared and still wish no ill on them - and no they aren't in texas so i can go there without a second thought and may well do that ,

Thanks. I like most everybody here.  That still don't make me a nice guy. I CAN be a nice guy, and I even give people the benefit of a doubt when I meet them, but as often as not, they turn out to not deserve it, and that's when my Not Nice Guy comes into play. 

Pretty much everybody here plays it straight, and those are the people I'm nice to. Within reason, of course.

thats ok , i appreciate where your coming from , i most always take folks on face value till they prove otherwise , but yes im skeptical and watching till that settles in , here ive found most to be what they say they are , not sayin im letting my guard down but im more at ease , still armed and still wary , i find most in our game are older - my generation + or - a few years and we dont always think alike but we are honest about our thinking ,

 

my parents were of the WWII gen and im a boomer - i get it that kids these days look at us as we might well have looked at our grandparents - i didnt see it that way , my grand parents were very worldly and with it [shy of my mothers parents that forbid me to learn german] they seemed in touch , my fathers father was a history nut and my interest sparked a great deal of well spent time , 

 

im having a great deal of trouble accepting the young who seem to be embracing communism these days , i wish there was a way to do what the schools have failed to do and teach them what that means , what its resulted in in the past and will again , if only they would look at venezualla today they might get it , but i like kids too and i beleive they will catch on eventually ,

Oh wait, I do know what won’t be said. I will be cremated. There will be no boo-hoo-hooing in a funeral parlor and no graveside sermons by some minister I don’t know. 

i have asked that my wife throw a party. I asked her to provide food and booze and MY favorite music, hard rock and heavy metal. Anyone that doesn’t like the music can screw off and leave the way I did.

and making nice, appropriate comments........... THEN here comes his kin, TN WILLIAMS, walking into the funeral home

like he owns the place.....and the whole dang atmosphere changes and folks start telling big lies.   It happens
