I bet the cushioning of hitting the car saved him. The car driver must need new undies!

I cannot imagine reporting that to my insurance company.

Wow! The pilot did it right. No one was badly injured or killed.

Twice I was concerned when I lived in SoCal and driving home on the same freeway, the 405 south bound near Long Beach.
Once I was headed home splitting lanes on my motorcycle when a plane very much like the one in the news above came down like it was going to land in the freeway but didn’t. Its wheels were 20-25 feet above the concrete. Cars slowed and swerved. I almost got hit but I headed towards the K rails in the median.
The plane veered off, gained altitude and away it went. I never heard anything in the news about it.

The 2nd was I was headed home in my truck. Traffic was heavy. Bumper to bumper and at a near standstill, south bound on the 405.
It was very windy.
A small plane was taking off from Long Beach airport towing a huge banner.
The plane lifted off and the banner was mostly still on the tarmac and the wind literally held the plane at a dead standstill hovering 80-100’ over the north bound lanes.
The plane stayed that way for 5 minutes - did I mention traffic was slow?

All of a sudden the plane started wig-wagging. I thought he was going down but that’s what it took to break the plane vs wind vs huge banner stalemate and the plane slowly gained altitude and flew off with its big banner.
I am pretty sure I heard a cheer erupt from all the cars around me.

Maybe. I’m thinking this could well be a fuel starvation issue, which is often on the pilot. It’s what killed John Denver. Highly unlikely both engines would fail at the same time, and I also noticed no fire. Pretty high probability there was no fuel aboard. Fuel mismanagement is the number two cause of general aviation accidents. Hope I’m wrong here.

And above. Not too sure there's many cars with mirrors for THAT angle.

If I was in the recording car, I think I'd have something to say besides, 'Oh my goodness.'

Probably on advice from the law firm of Dewey, Shafftum, and Howe.

The individual who could keep it together enough to call a lawyer in that situation, likely wouldn't do it.  Just my reaction.

That's why God could never sue the Devil.

Never be able to find an attorney to take the case.

I was following a car that got cut off by a driver who then slammed on brakes to make an exit -- wasn't a 'squat-and-stop' scam, just a lousy driver.

I pulled over to help, and within probably two minutes (long before law enforcement got there) both drivers had been approached by attorneys who'd pulled over to put cards in their hands, accompanied by suggestions that they needed to, 'get checked out by a doc -- just in case'.

ETA: I'm not slamming attorneys in general -- there is a definite need for legal representation. But there are some . . . .

Not only is the plane coming from behind, it's above. Probably wouldn't of seen it until it was in his hood and sliding into the road in front of him. Had to of been a major holy crap! 💩
