I use a moisturizer on my hands because, with diabetes, extremely dry skin is a problem!! My hands get so dry and slick that I have stuff slip out of them occasionally.

When I apply the moisturizer to my hands, I often rub my forehead and cheeks with the last vestiges of it rather than wait for it to dry completely.  Keeps my skin from getting flaky.

If you use regular soaps when you wash or shower, they can dry your skin of natural oils.

Winter does that to the tops of my feet and lower legs. I scratch them raw while sleeping.:(

I wear dark colors most of the time. I HATE  having flakes of dried skin all over my clothes and shedding it on everything!! 😡

Moisturizer... lotion... whatever you want to call it, if I don't put something on my face when I get out of the shower it'll look like a chalk board that's never been cleaned in short order.

And when working with wood it'll suck every bit of moisture out of your hands and they will literally crack if you don't put it back.

None of that stops the character lines though.

My skin usually tends towards oily. My forehead and upper chest especially. So I use either a scrubber or exfoliating soap every day.  Aggressively.

I'll occasionally need to use a lotion on my hands or feet, but not often.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body.  It's designed to keep your innards in, help regulate your body temperature,  and keep nasty stuff out of your body.  Need to take care of it.

I don't worry about grey hair,  or my rapidly expanding forehead.  Or wrinkles. All those are the hashmarks of life.

I use cream on my face every morning.
Right after I shower.
It's thick, it's white, it comes out of a pressure can and I apply it just before the barbaric scraping of the face with a sharpened blade!

Just think of the money I’ve saved in the last thirty plus years since the last time a razor touched my face!! 😜

OK, I'll be the odd man out here. I use a moisturizer after I get out of the shower and shave every morning. If I don't my skin feels dry and tight, and the skin around my eyes itches. If it keeps me young looking for AB, then I'm OK with that. My goatee is pretty near white at this point to make up for it.

I use CeraVe from Costco on face and body dry skin - odorless and effective.  Relatively recent.  Based on having some facial skin cancers removed last month, I will need to use sunscreen when things warm up again. I have used Vaseline on my feet for ages - totally eliminates cracking which can be painful.  Something to try if you have cracking issues, remarkable improvement.
