Dawg Hair, SASS #29557 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 One of the most memorable instances in my life and one which is forever deeply ingrained in my memory occurred in late summer, 1959, Washington DC. A saturday, I had just arrived in D.C. to start a year in a prep school for the service academies. I had just graduated from a military academy in Gainesville, GA. After checking in at the school I went alone to familiarize myself with D.C. I came upon a crowd of people at an intersection when a black limo came around the corner. I was standing at the curb when the car passed by slowly and in the rear seat I saw President Eisenhower and Nikita Krushev. Just a few feet from me! It was just for an instant but for a star struck seventeen year old that was incredible! That was 66 years ago but I can still see it in my mind. 3 1 Quote
